On tap at mikkeller bangkok. Overwhelming aroma of raspberry. Also lots of orange, little bit of lemon, pine and caramel. Some bitterness to it, way too much sweet raspberry juice in the aftertaste though.

beautiful ruby-brown color with big head. orange fruits, alcohol and candis sugar in the aroma. the fruitiness is different from a hoppy fruitiness. you really feel the barley wine basis. Soft start, strong barley wine malt body in the taste. Delicious, but very strong.

Bottle from Kihoskh. Hazy reddish brown with a lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, lots of raspberries and alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish with lots of warming alcohol. 140914

12.7 oz bottle, my 50th fruit beer rating. Brown with a slight crimson tinge and coating beige foam. Nose is rotting raspberry and medicinal orange. Seriously funky. Oily, syrupy, hot and sticky. Taste starts rude and cloying like fruity prison hooch. Nice raspberry emerges complimented quite well by the orange peel. Sweet honey then moldy and bitter. Im at times delighted and aghast. Gotta admire the audacity of this one.

Bottle. Murky red/brown body with a tiny offwhite head. Sweet caramel aroma with raspberries, citric fruits, earth. Taste is mild sour, heavy sweet, with oranges, raspberries, plums and a alcoholic sting. Warm bittersweet finish with a pleasant mild berry and caramel aftertaste. Very nice.

Xavalias (154) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 26, 2014
Pours hazy dark amber to brown with tan head. Sweet-sour, fruity with red berries, light citrus, caramel. Oily texture leading to a long sweet raspberry finish. More lambic-style than barley wine. Perfect as a dessert wine with a very dark chocolate.

Tap @ Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen 15/7-14. Fruity and caramelish with raspberries, sweet with alcoholic notes. The finish is dry, sweet and fruity.

Nocturne (786) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2014
375ml bottle. Pours a reddish amber shade. Opening up with really nice raspberry notes. Orange blending with malt. Opens with sweet malt and a burst of juicy fruit. Finishes with tart raspberries and alcohol warmth. Doesnt feel as big as 14%. So overwhelmed by fruit that its hard to get a sense of the base beer, but the fruit is so nice that I can almost forget that.

ClubGonzo (4028) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 8, 2014
Bottle @ Apollon, Bergen. Hazy light nougat brown body, small off-white head. Nose is caramel, red berries, wood, port wine, grape peel, hints of toffee, alcohol and hay. Taste is bitter herbs, licorice, caramel, red berries, grape peel, alcohol, hints of wood and lime. Full body, medium carbonation. A bit strange, but fair enough.
