Bottle, New years eve 2014-2015. Black body with a brown head. Pretty big head for the strength. Aroma of ash and licorice with prunes, also a light roastyness and alcohol. Taste of sweet cherry, chocolate, port wine, roasted malt. Very nice play between the roasty bitterness and all the sweet stuff. Sweet coffee and alcohol aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2016 15%ABV. Imperial milk stout. Poured out of the bottle a tarry black. 40ºSRM. Very inviting and think coffee brown rim of a head. Nose has a brown sugar richness, there is a faint cafe au lait aroma. Stewed fruit and honeyed dates also figure into the aroma. There is a faint yakitori aroma which is a combination of sweet, smoke and umami. When it warms a little, the nose has a fume-y quality to it suggesting fresh paint, acrylic, epoxy or slowly curing fiberglass. Mouthfeel is syrupy. There is hardly any cabonation. Palate is brown sugar, treacle, caramel, butterscotch, deeply browned barley bread, burnt white bread, charcoal and finally peat smoke. There is abundant fruit in the palate with sweet prunes, dates, apricots, honeyed dates, and black plums. The herbal flavors are licorice, Chinese lo Han go, Jagermeister. Interestingly, this looks and has the mouthfeel of a local coffee, kopi-o gao which is a strong deeply carmelized coffee roast with water and sugar, but close your eyes and the milky traits start to intrude giving you the impression of kopi gao which is a strong coffee with milk. Overall, the palate is silky smooth all the way to the end Finish is sweet and sticky, a little like illicit sex. Like I said before, if you’re going to get your ass kicked, it is best to get it done the Jule Maelk way...the very best, most illicitly pleasurable way to get kicked in the nuts.
