3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Got the beer at Vinbúðin in Reykjavík.
Aroma: strong hints of alcohol. Also hints of roasted coffee and chocolate. Very nice appearance. Pitch black with thick brown’ish head. some lacing. Taste is vanilla, some dark fruits and the chili kicks in at the end. Quite boosey. Overall a very nice beer, but not as great as some of the other imperial stouts that To øl has made.

Appearance: Dark brown with a cm thick tan head.
Aroma: Toast/bread, chilli, grassy, caramel/toffee and a note of chocolate.
Taste: Medium sweetness, low/medium bitterness and sourness.
Palate: Thin light texture and body, prickly carbonation, and lingering finish. There is an initial sweetness followed by bitterness and sourness, and then a slight chilli kick. The flavours are a blend of malty tobacco, chocolate, toast and vanilla.
Comments: Tasty and left a glass lace.

Cock Tavern. Keg. Opaque black -brown beer with a good tan head. Palate is softish and airy but leaves a viscous coat on the swallow. Good superfine carbonation. Sweet dark malts with a very unusual sweet dark chocolate. Well buried red berry fruits and a whisper of coffee. Finishes smooth with the chilli finally showing up and providing an earthy bitterness and pleasantly mellow warmth. The aftertaste has more sweet dark malt, a little lactose and earthy warmth. Well done for the restraint on the chilli! Really rather good
