Tap at Friends. Black, lace, nice brown legs. Very fruity nose, orange, grapes, even a bitnofnpineapple, plus chocolate. Doesn’t smell like an IS. Fruity, peppery flavor. Chili, grape, cherry, coffee, pepper, chocolate. Very complex and fruity, with great peppey stuff that doesn’t go overboard. A bit like mole. Light, slitly thin body. Drank with two better IS, but still damn good.

Pours dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is spicy, acidic, coffee and chocolate. Very malty. Taste is sweet with a spicy character, sticks to the back of your throat. Now I must say I am not big with spicy things, this one just gets a bit unpleasant. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

0.375 bottle, thanks hanniku! Aromas of ethanol, chili and wooden pencil. Taste of coffee, taste of chili (without burnt), ethanol, licorice and hint of smoke. Full body, soft carbonation, burning alcohol in the palate. Ethanol is quite dominating, points for real taste of chili without burning sensation.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours black with a damn fine looking, heavy set tan head which just sits and sits and sits there. Great lacing too. Nose shows heavy dry chocolate. Touch of spice there but not overly. Almost mocha like but not over power by the coffee. A touch simple and standard on the nose but what is there is pleasing. Taste however shows a different story. Serious dry powdered like chocolate with some pepper and spice, not chilli heat though. Thick vanilla and coffee come through but all in superb balance. Seriously unbelievable drinkability for a 12% beer. Fucking good shit!

The last bottle from mane liquor. Pitch black motor oil like pour with a tanned small head. Nice lacing left around the glass. Nose is heavy on the dark chocolate, chilli and roasted malts. First mouthful is fucking smooth, creamy mouth feel. Taste is very roasted with more hot chilli coming through. After the initial upfront chilli bite out comes the bitter coffee with milk chocolate and a small subtle burn. Impressive stuff how the burn doesn't impact on the drinkability. Very well balanced stuff. Would definitely drink this again! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ benzai. Pitch black colour with a medium to big dense, creamy, long lasting dark brown head. Instant 5 points. Smells roasted malts, chocolate, sweet, cocoa, some iron, some liquorice. Tastes roasted malts, cocoa, slightly bourbon, sweet, some coffee, some iron. Full body, oily texture, soft carbo. Too bad about the iron.

(Draught at Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen, 12 July 2013) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of black coffee, chocolate, liquorice and touch of smoke. Malty, roasted taste with espresso, dark chocolate, liquorice, asphalt and a generous coffee bitterness coming through in a finish with balanced hints of alcohol. A touch of chilli emerging after a while. Full body with a thick and oily mouthfeel, fairly sweet. Fairly well balanced for what it is. Very tasty. Excellent beer!
