Dark fat smooth imperial stout brewed with Chipotle, Ancho and Guajillo chillies, that adds a smokyness and a bit of acidic spicyness to the big impy stout.

Appearance: Dark brown with a cm thick tan head. Aroma: Toast/bread, chilli, grassy, caramel/toffee and a note of chocolate. Taste: Medium sweetness, low/medium bitterness and sourness. Palate: Thin light texture and body, prickly carbonation, and lingering finish. There is an initial sweetness followed by bitterness and sourness, and then a slight chilli kick. The flavours are a blend of malty tobacco, chocolate, toast and vanilla. Comments: Tasty and left a glass lace.

Cock Tavern. Keg. Opaque black -brown beer with a good tan head. Palate is softish and airy but leaves a viscous coat on the swallow. Good superfine carbonation. Sweet dark malts with a very unusual sweet dark chocolate. Well buried red berry fruits and a whisper of coffee. Finishes smooth with the chilli finally showing up and providing an earthy bitterness and pleasantly mellow warmth. The aftertaste has more sweet dark malt, a little lactose and earthy warmth. Well done for the restraint on the chilli! Really rather good

375 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with full tan head. Aromas of milk chocolate and heavily roasted malts. Maybe a whiff of smoke. Thick - a meal on its own. Flavours of coffee, big malts, dark chocolate. Heat is subtle, coming on very late. Makes one hungry. Beautiful. Incredible.

Sampled at the London Craft Beer Festival. Pours deep, black-brown with a foamy beige head. Great stuff, not too hot. Great balance. Some rich chocolate, moderate roast. Very smooth. Not too heavy - quite a feat given the ABV. Nice, well rounded character. Excellent

Draft at Mikkeller & Friends. Very very dark brownish black with a medium sized mocca brown head. Lovely aroma. Seared ryebread. Sweet tobacco smoke. Vanilla. Extremely fat texture, with a gentle chili-burn tingling your tongue and cleaning the palate. Heavy roast. Full body with a smooth boozy finish. Lovely

A bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. I enjoyed this a lot, probably beer of the evening. Loads of fruit intermingled with chocolate and just a hint of smoke. Those 3 elements were in balance too.

375ml bottle shared at home. Pours jet black with thin tan head. Fruity nose, dark fruits, dark chocolate, coffee. I couldn’t pick up much smoke, but than I had just finished a cigar. Others round the table could get smoke. Heat comes through softly towards the end. Sweet and roasty goodness to finish. Good.
