COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark fat smooth imperial stout brewed with Chipotle, Ancho and Guajillo chillies, that adds a smokyness and a bit of acidic spicyness to the big impy stout.

Bottle. 12.2%. Best before 17.04.23. Pours pitch black with a khaki/brown head. Good lacing. Sweetish, slightly dusty, roasted aroma with a mild hot chili note. Feels smooth. Fruity and ’regular’ chili notes as it warms. Flavour is roasted, a bit tart and with a mild hot chili note as well. The finish is where it happens; bitter coffee, light chocolate with a chili burn and an alcohol ditto; both increasing a bit as it warms, but never becoming unpleasant. Lingering chili note. A bit too much carbonation. Overall very good; well-balanced and the chili burn is at a level which doesn’t make it unpleasant. 21.07.13.

Bottle. Dark, nearly black body with a tall tan head. Aroma has dark chocolate, espresso and spices. Thick and oily mouthfeel with medium spiciness - I’m glad it’s not some over-the-top chilifest. Finish has dark roast and some more espresso. Not very complex...This beer is like an action hero - very intensive but equally uncharismatic. A solid stout but I expected something more special, given that one could easily score a whole case of lager for the price of this 375ml bottle...

aroma was a mystery until i noticed the texts chipotle ancho guajillo. appearance cant get any better than this black beer with a thick dark brown head. taste is licorice , light roasted and light/medium sweetness, some wierdness from the chili. a bit of alcohol on the exhale. syrupy mouthfeel. excellent beer. only downside is a lack of strong finish. gets a +0.1 for the excellent back label.

Bottle from drink shop, tallinn. Black color with nice large brown head. Aroma is licorice, coffee, smoky, some alcohol and something weird (chilis?). Thick mouthfeel, smoke, some alcohol at the end, roasty, licorice, coffee. Nicely different than many other imperial stouts

Draught at Mikkeller&Friends. Pitch black beer with a nice brownish head. Roasted chocolate aroma, chilli, spicy, caramel, licorice, tar, um notes, raisins, creamy notes. Chilli flavor, chocolate, cocoa powder, creamy, tar, spicy notes, peat, some licorice. Full bodied. Chilli finish with caramel, licorice, dark chocolate and cocoa. Good beer bit probably it had been even better without the chilli.

Bottled. Pours pitch black with a medium sized brown head, that leaves an excellent lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and weak chili notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with some alcohol and a peppery touch. Medium to full bodied, oily to creamy texture and flat to soft carb. A delicious impy.

Draught. Low fluffy brown and quickly disappearing head. Yes it is really black. Coffee chocolate aroma with a solid roasted malt base. Hints of alcohol and heavily roasted malt coffee flavor. Low carbonation. Long roasted malt coffee finish with a fair amount of hops bitterness.

375ml. bottle. Pours completely black with a one-finger light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, hints of chocolate and licorice. Taste of roasted malt, chocolate with licorice, chilies and smoke in the finish, and a hint of vanilla. All that considered I don’t actually think it’s super complex - but I DO think it’s VERY good. Full bodied. The chili is very balanced and this is, overall, a very good imperial stout. Love it.
