Dark fat smooth imperial stout brewed with Chipotle, Ancho and Guajillo chillies, that adds a smokyness and a bit of acidic spicyness to the big impy stout.

Bottle at home. Pours deep dark brown with small dark beige head. Nose of nice chocolate sweets, vanilla (allbeit a bit too much). Thick sweet body, as from the middle reminiscent heat. Too much

Smooth full bodied imperial stout with clear influence from the chili making it a bit acidic in the beginning and spicy in the finish. Hints of oak and rhum. Nicely balanced but pepper is not my thing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.375 bottle. Black color with a small, tanned head. Aroma of wood, dark malts, caramel, sweet tobacco, peat, and a hint of herbs. Taste of spices, chili, dark malts, fruits, and a few notes of cognac which combined with the peppery spiciness create an intriguing yet congruous blend. A full body, a thick and oily texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is long and sweet; the peppers shine again though this time in a less spicy manner. Overall the beer is splendid, its spiciness is properly balanced and contrasts the recent releases of fiery but altogether incondite Danish brews.

Lots to like here. Nice to see a big stout keep its head, a beige layer that leaves some nice lacing as well. Below this, it’s dark and opaque. Body is full but creamy and frothy rather than the oil slick that these big beers can often be. The chipotle is present enough to add p!enty of zingbut doesn’t take over your mouth at the expense of everything else. Rather, you get nut, light smoke, soy, molasses and pepper. Nose has coffee, chocolate, red fruit and lightly roasted malt.

Aroma of chocolate and some chilies. Flavor is sweet, bourbonny, and some chili splice. Nicely balanced beer, similar to a bcs. Barrel age this and it is an absolute monster. Pours deep brown wih a dark brown head. Had at home

12.2%ABV. Imperial Stout. Poured out black and sinuous. 40ºSRM. Nose develops as the beer comes up to room temperature: peat smoke, sweet tobacco, coffee, caramel, wood like hickory or unmatured pine. There is a special sweet spiciness to the nose that suggests like a roasted ripe red pepper or a fresh salsa of chipotle. Some medicinal aromas start to come out near the end. Aroma of fresh licorice. Aroma of a properly ripened date or honey plum. Cognac alcholic nose. There is a pleasant creamy sweetness and warmth at the end which is not unlike tasting a middling Speyside at cask strength. Mouthfeel is syrupy. Palate is heavy and laden with complex flavors: molasses, brown sugar, cherry liqueur, coffe, raw chocolate, mole, stone fruit, honeyed apricots and dates, Palate is rounded and fruity with full bodied beautiful sweet flavors. The finish is nectar sticky and yes, there is a nice spicy kick from the chilies but there is so much going on this brew that you hardly have time to appreciate the obvious, which is the chili. Goes on Favorites List!

Süßlicher, sehr weicher Antrunk von vollmundigen Malz. Nuancen von Chili, deutlich schokoladig. Langer cremiger Nachhall, spritzig, nie alkoholisch. Gut. 12/12/12/12/10/12

Ummm, yea. In the last few weeks Ive really come to realize i am spoiled. So much good beer readily accessible now a days. Dark thick oil, just like I like my beer. Thick creamy tan head. Creamy chocolate/mocha. Chipotle adds a wonderful touch. Thick. This would be fun next to an Abraxas. Acidic, but it should be.
