Pours dark red-mahogany color with a small head. Nice roasty aroma, some mild wooden notes, faint tar, chili and wood. Chocolaty, malty flavor, some vanilla, chili and wood. Nice and not too overwhelming with the chili.

375 ml bottle. Pours a pitch black colour with a beige thick head. Aroma of roasted malts, coconut, cream and chocolate. Rich flavour of roasted malts, cream, smoked notes, mild chili burn, herbal notes, black pepper, wood and some acidity. Full bodied and thick mouthfeel. Very nicely balanced. Unique.

375ml bottle, vertical with Cognac and Sherry versions

Pours pitch black with a smooth brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, cocoa, dark chocolate, pepper, spices, hints of smoke and ash. Taste is roasty, sweetish and spicy with some dark chocolate, pepper, chili and ash. Finish is roasty, spicy and sweetish with notes of dark chocolate, pepper and slowly warming chili notes. Feels quite stingy and spicy compared to the barrel aged versions.

37,5 cl bottle (12,2%) @ olio, BBE 17.04.2023
Aroma has cocoa, salty licorice and hints of hay. Flavour has spicy chili tones, dark chocolate, roasted malty tones and alcohol. Nice, the chili is not too overwhwelming but warms nicely. Small sample from draught @ De Arendsnest: chili was not that overwhelming but otherwise quite the same.

Pours a deep and dark black. Aromas of cognac are abundant. More cognac in the taste and good stout flavor. Missing the chiles but they may have faded out over time.

0,375L bottle. Pours black with brown head. The head stays. Aroma is intense roast, alcohol, dark chocolate, and coffee. Taste is very sweet, alcohol, fruits, dark chocolate, lactose, and licorice. Finish is some bittermess and chili burn. Body feels creamy. Overall: great brew, but a little bit too sweet.

1 pint on draft @ Ale & Hop Barcelona. Black with a semi-lasting thick off white foam. Smells like an imperial stout should but a bit on the alcoholic side. Taste is roasty, slightly coffee, very sweet. A bit too much for my taste. Not my cup of tea but my lovely girlfriend seems to like it.

Lore (1104) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 21, 2014
deep dark colour, huge dense brown creamy head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of liqueur, coffee, dark chocolate and spicy notes; incredible taste of liqueur, chocolate, some coffee and syrupy sweetness first, which give the place to spicy chilli and roasted bitterness later on leaving back a long lasting bittery-spicy aftertaste; maybe some vanilla, woody notes and smokey notes can also be felt - incredible imperial stout! the best one I’ve ever tasted! even after minutes you can feel the warmth chilly notes! CONGRATULATIONS and thanks for this miracle!
