The best thing about this beer is the smell, plum and chocolate. It’s a little thinner than I thought it would be, not a bad thing. A slight bitter finish and a little on the lighter finish for a IS.

Pours near black with a thick tan head and a chocolate and chili pepper aroma. There is an intense smoked chocolate flavor with an unmistakable hot chili. Backlog

Black as the night, brown head as... Let’s say wood. Creamy, sourdough bread, chocolate. Very nice aroma. Taste is certainly too sour though. I see how this might appeal many, but not me. Quite a bit of heat in the end but about the first time ever I don’t hate that. That’s quite an achievement. Like making an amazing pop song. Still merely okay, but quite a feat. (On tap @ Mikkeller Bar Viktoriagade, Jan 8 2015) Pours black with a medium tan head that lingers and leaves lace. Aroma of dark raw chocolate and smoky chili pepper spice. Moderate roast with coffee notes. Quite dry nose. Palate quite dry as well with raw unsweetened cacao chocolate, lightly nutty, black coffee with a dash of sugar, toasted coconut, chili smokiness building from the middle on. Some pepper heat and alcohol heat on the finish, softly smoky, dry but fairly light roast. Medium full slick body with moderate carb. On the dry side for an impy stout which is amplified by the chili character. Very nice drinkable stout.
