Smoke and chocolate, with dark fruit on the aroma. This has a creamy mouthfeel, and a slight spice finish.

Bottle 0,375. Black color. Aroma: licorice, chili, smoked, winy. Taste: warming, good balance between sweetness and bitterness, chili notes in aftertaste. Very good.

Pours like motor oil black color, haze, with stable foamy light brown head. Visually low carbonation. Aroma: rich and intense aroma of dark malt, which takes on coffee, bittersweet dark chocolate, supported with hop aroma, which takes on dark and forest friuit, and with spicy aroma of chilli peppers. Flavor: rich and intense malt flavor, which takes on cocoa, cacao bean, espresso coffee, molasses, vanilla, supported with spicynes of chilli peppers, which actually takes more on smokyness, and with hop flavor in the background, which takes on dark forest fruits. Body is full, texture is very silky smooth, carbonation is low, alcohol warmth is very discrete and gentle. Taste is fistly very sweet, with sticky, slightly spicy, dry finish. Spiciness lingers long in aftertaste. Another very good imperial stout, made in Proef brewery.

12.2%ABV. Imperial Stout. Poured out black and sinuous. 40ºSRM. Nose develops as the beer comes up to room temperature: peat smoke, sweet tobacco, coffee, caramel, wood like hickory or unmatured pine. There is a special sweet spiciness to the nose that suggests like a roasted ripe red pepper or a fresh salsa of chipotle. Some medicinal aromas start to come out near the end. Aroma of fresh licorice. Aroma of a properly ripened date or honey plum. Cognac alcholic nose. There is a pleasant creamy sweetness and warmth at the end which is not unlike tasting a middling Speyside at cask strength. Mouthfeel is syrupy. Palate is heavy and laden with complex flavors: molasses, brown sugar, cherry liqueur, coffe, raw chocolate, mole, stone fruit, honeyed apricots and dates, Palate is rounded and fruity with full bodied beautiful sweet flavors. The finish is nectar sticky and yes, there is a nice spicy kick from the chilies but there is so much going on this brew that you hardly have time to appreciate the obvious, which is the chili. Goes on Favorites List!

The last bottle from mane liquor. Pitch black motor oil like pour with a tanned small head. Nice lacing left around the glass. Nose is heavy on the dark chocolate, chilli and roasted malts. First mouthful is fucking smooth, creamy mouth feel. Taste is very roasted with more hot chilli coming through. After the initial upfront chilli bite out comes the bitter coffee with milk chocolate and a small subtle burn. Impressive stuff how the burn doesn't impact on the drinkability. Very well balanced stuff. Would definitely drink this again! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours black with a damn fine looking, heavy set tan head which just sits and sits and sits there. Great lacing too. Nose shows heavy dry chocolate. Touch of spice there but not overly. Almost mocha like but not over power by the coffee. A touch simple and standard on the nose but what is there is pleasing. Taste however shows a different story. Serious dry powdered like chocolate with some pepper and spice, not chilli heat though. Thick vanilla and coffee come through but all in superb balance. Seriously unbelievable drinkability for a 12% beer. Fucking good shit!

Bottle. Pours deep opaque black with a medium brown creamy head that dissipates quite slowly and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, chocolate, a bit of tobacco and smoke, chili pepper, anise. Flavor is similar, initially sweet and roasty, bitterness coming on in mid swallow and growing to the finish. The spiciness starts as a bit of black peper, growing into a nice chili pepper warming sensation without ever becoming overpowering. Far finish leaves you with some acidic roasty bitterness and a lingering heat on the roof of the mouth and throat. Medium trending to full body, creamy mouthfeel. This is a well crafted beer.

0.375l bottle. Looks amazing in the glass this one. A huge super lacing deep brown top over a near pitch black body. The nose is just as lovely as it looks. Super rich and powerful on the nose with lots of deep dark brown roasted malts, salty licorice, black burned roasted marshmallows, some sweet leather and a little bit of vanilla. Really something. It has a full-bodied thick oily mouthfeel with a soft prickling carbonation level. Lots of licorice in the taste as well. Wet rocks, a little bit of gunpowder and a lovely deep rick fruitiness. It’s just packed with flavor this one! The alcohol is also pretty well hidden until the aftertaste where it’s leaving a gentle peppery and warming feeling on back of the tongue. A lovely beverage on a lovely evening. Stack up! 23.12.2013

In short: Great IStout.
Pours black with nice tan head. Moderate head retention, good lacing. Roasty, coffee, chocolate, some burnt sugar aromas. Full bodied, soft carbonation, silky texture. Taste follows the nose, a bit spicy, alcohol noticed, smooth and extremely enjoyable. Good one, fulfills what it is expected from a beer a beer of this level.
