9/VIII/14 - 37.5cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: 10/X/23 (2014-900)Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!

Dark brown to black beer, huge aery beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: quite some lactose, caramel, mocha, bit yeasty, milk chocolate, bit smoky. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: dark chocolate, mocha, cocoa powder, sugary, bit yeasty, liquorish, little bitter. Aftertaste: sugary, caramel, bit spicy, milk chocolate, malty, ginger bread (well, speculoos actually).

Bottle shared with northropfrye. Aroma smells like butterscotch and cognac and malt goodness and tastes like it, too. One of the best beers I’ve ever tasted. Enjoyed this a lot!

Thanks Tommy. Dark brown body with dark brown bubbly head and spotty lacing. Aroma of dried fruit, coffee, cocoa, nuttiness, fire roast and milk. Taste is quite sweet with a nice roasty edge and quite a dry bbq finish. Nice imperial stout.

37.5 cl. 12.2%.

Pours jet black with a nice mocha head like every good stout should. I smell the chili mostly so we will see if it comes through in the taste. Yep I get a nice sweet cognac with heat which is just as advertised. Not too spicy but a good chili flavor. One of the best chili stout offerings I’ve had which is a style that is hard to balance.

37.5 cl. 12.2%.

375 ml. bottle split by 3 @ “Memorabel Tastingkje”. Thanks to tderoeck & ?Erwin? ! Another gorgeous label from these guys & brilliant name. Pours pitch-black with fluffy chocolate mouse head. Looks gorgeous. Thick coffee, roasted coffee beans, maple syrup, molasses, very thick, dark malts, black chocolate, very smooth, finish is quite bitter, roasted oak, touch charcoal & touch charred malts. Very smooth, not really picking up cognac though, I am not that familiar with cognac. I didn’t get any chilli either, odd. Very slick, syrup, oily-like. I am a bit less into the roasted variety of RIS so this is less my personal preference but there is no denying that this is perfectly crafted & balanced, very good even if too much roast for me in the finish.

Sweet! I feel like I’m rating with the Finnish Ducks...Pours a pretty flat dark brown. Nose is sweet booze, light wood, dark and sweet malts. Taste is much the same, a bit thin on the mouth feel, some smokiness to it, and nice chile heat. Nice stuff.

375 ml bottle.
Pours dark red-mahogany color with a small head. Nice roasty aroma, some mild wooden notes, faint tar, chili and wood. Spices and wood on the flavor, chocolate, chili and licorice. A bit aggressive with bitter malty notes, some caramel and licorice also. A bit more pleasant than the sherry version, tasty.

37,5 cl bottle (12,2%) @ olio, BBE 10.10.2023
Aroma has some cocoa, salty licorice and hints of dark chocolate. Flavour has stinging alcohol and woody tones, some salty licorice and cognac. Too stingy, not good as the original one. Hides the chili very well.
