Opaque dark brown beer, big pale tan head. Palate is crispy and semi dry. Lovely smooth dark malts with mild dark chocolate. Soft wood and subtle sherry. Mild chilli in the smooth finish which also brings milky coffee.

Pours a thick mosly opaque black with a bit of ruby highlight, a bigger than expected tan head and decent lacing. Aroma has some roasted malt and chocolate with a hint of soy sauce and papery oxidation. Taste has some sweetness and alcohol to begin with then mild bakers chocolate, roast and a hint of cherry. Has a good deal of wood character along with a bit of oxidation. Finishes dry with some alcohol warmth. Slick mouthfeel with a full body and light/moderate carbonation. Flavors are fairly rounded and even. Pretty straight forward.

Pitch black with little brown foam. The smell is smooth sweet chocolate with hints of jalapeño. The taste is spicy but smooth and full. Chocolate a little vanilla and coffee notes. The spice and sweetness come and go separately. A bit weird but good.

Black color with beige head that has a touch of red. A bit of wood, a bit of chilies, a bit of chocolate, a bit of vanilla, a bit of dried fruit, a bit of everything. Very smooth foamy mouthfeel. A rather subtle Barrel Aged Imperial Stout.

Bottle at home, 28th February 15. Pours pretty flat. Aroma is complex, cocoa, sweetness, slight barrel. Taste is smooth, really well accomplished, very integrated sherry, which is only a small feature of this beer, slight tingle from the chilli, again very subtle. It all comes together to make a delicious and very well crafted beer. Excellent

375 ml bottle. BB 03/10/23. At the Bites & Pints, Athens, Greece. Dark brown colour with a tiny mid-brown head. Ripe cherries, roasted malt, alcohol, vegetables (= chilies) and chocolate in the aroma. Where the hell is all the alcohol? From a 12.2% brew I was expecting to get some alcohol flavour - but no, none! Amazing! Roasted malt, sweet malt, milky notes, cherry and some mild sourness. Absolutely enjoyable beer. Smooth as silk! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

23/XII/14 - 37.5cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: 3/X/23 (2014-1531) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark brown beer, big creamy irregular beige to brown head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very oxidized, caramel, dried fruits, some orange peel, chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: little sweet first, lots of chocolate, very oxidized (well, that’s what you get for ageing in sherry barrels, I guess), orange peel, bit hoppy. Aftertaste: sourish touch, caramel, milk chocolate, sweet, bit hoppy, spicy finish.
