Tap @ Fairbar. Pitch black pour with a minimal tan head. Nose has some dark chocolate, light soy sauce, burnt malts and light vanilla. Taste is nicely balanced with some sweet vanilla, dark bitter chocolate and light ash. Pretty tasty!

On tap at Skuli Craft, pours jet black with a small brown head. Nose is decadent, with notes of chocolate, roasted malt, some coffee and caramelized sugar. Flavour is really intense, with a mix of dark fruits, roasted malt, dry caramel and cocoa. So much going on in this one. The opposite of easy drinking - this is a really slow sipper. A decadent treat that is quite brutal. Not for the feont of heart. Very good slow sipper.

Leighton (13203) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2015
Keg at BrewDog Shepherd’s Bush - London. Pours oily black with a dense, creamy brown head. The nose holds lots of dark malts, some creamy caramel, dark fruits, cocoa, hints of licorice. Hugely sweet flavor with lots of ripe dark fruit character, a bit of burnt wood, burnt toffee, earthy bitterness, gooey chocolate. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Finishes warming and sticky, with loads of burnt sugars, raisins, burnt wood, earth, dried berries, dark chocolate, faint ash. Quite a beastly number but still really tasty and dangerously drinkable.

Apr 2015 - Keg at Brewdog Cardiff as ’To Øl Long Time No See’, 12.8%. Black, small foamy dark brown head doesn’t endure. Aroma is strong coffee - espresso, touch of smoke, a little meaty. Smells a bit whisky-aged. Body is medium, smooth, tingly carbonation. Taste has more coffee, sweet toffee, surprisingly light malts and alcohol, some ash and floral hop, those plasticky square processed cheese slices. Worryingly drinkable. Outstanding stuff.

Bottle 33cl. Pours thick pitch black with intense small mocca head. Aroma is dark roasty malts, coffee, espresso, hard roast, fresh ground coffee. Liqorice. Some soy. Taste is fresh ground dry coffee and really dark bitter chocolate. Roasty malts, liquorice, full smooth body. Roasty dry finish, very nice imperial stout! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Warming, spicy alcohol balanced by a velvety smooth mouthfeel. Dark chocolate throughout, combined with tobacco and coffee. Great aroma and flavour depth. Superb beer!

Bottle. Pours in black oily body with low tan creamy head, quickly evading, good lancing. Aroma is cocoa, nutty, toffee, chocolate. Taste has high chocolate sweetness, long balance astringent roastiness. Low to medium bitterness, mostly roasty with light touch of earty hops. Warminig alcohol, well hidden for that power. Body is full, oily, medium creamy carbonation.

Thanks to Beerlover_Ben. 330 ml. bottle split by two. Bottled during 12/2014. Black, mocha bubbles. Nose is sweet mocha soy ice cream, sweet sugar, coffee, cheap chocolate. Taste is light umami, bitter, light soy, herbal mixed with dark fruits & mocha soy ice cream, chocolate, touch fruits,… Bit thinner than you would expect from a close to 13 % ABV beer. This is good but considering how wonderful the other To Øl beers are, I do still keep expecting more fireworks from their RIS’s.
