COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: English: Overall IIPA is - as the name denotes - an Imperial India Pale Ale created in close collaboration between To Øl and our good friends from Mikkeller. The mission was to create a hommage to the American beerculture, where beers needs to have flavour, taste and style, contrary to the urine-colored pseudo beer that we often drink in Denmark!
By first draught Overall IIPA has a sligthly caramelized malt profile, which gives you time to rest before your tastebuds are bombarded by a plethora of hop sensations, giving you hints of pines, citrus and grape. These are just barely harnessed by the sweetness of the alcohol. You suddenly realise that Overall IIPA is "overall" in your mouth and that drinking is living. For a short while you forget your tax-payments, work and the dishes. You relax and your shoulders drop down a couple of inches. You get carried away in a dream before you realise that your glass is empty and you need another one! Cheers!
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, flaked oats, hops (Simcoe, Amarillo and Centennial) and yeast.

Pour is a very hazy orange/amber with a creamy white head. Aroma of intense pine/citrus hops, some rich/toasted caramel malts. Excellent IIPA aroma, in my book (could only imagine this when fresh). Taste is more of the same, sticky mouthfeel and lingering hop finish. Slightly warming, but not bad at 10.5% Another great offering from Mikkeller.

This one went down alright, didn’t realise it was over 10 percent till I had finished it, all the characteristics of what a DIPA supposed to be, well hopped but very drinkable.

Bottle split with mcberko. Pours a cloudy deep orange/red with a lasting small white head. Aroma of caramel, tropical fruits, citrus, some pine in there too. Flavour is of sweet caramel initially, then the bitterness of the hops kick in and escalate to a beautifully bitter finish. Some woody, resinous notes and citrus fruits in there too. Full bodied and complex. Well balanced but still very hoppy. Beautiful.

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2011 12 oz. bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours a cloudy peachy orange with a white head. Aroma is insanely hoppy, with truckloads of citrus hops, some tropical fruits (peach, mango), loads of grapefruit, with not much malt backing to be detected. Flavour begins caramely and fruity, even sweet at the beginning, then the mountains of hops pummel through and completely coat your palate, leaving an uncompromising hop destruction of your palate. Excellent.

From a 330ml bottle on 14/7/2011. Pours a cloudy dark orange with a small head which dissipates quickly. Has a strong aroma of caramel malt, musk and fruity hops. This one tastes big, just as you’d expect for something that’s 10.5%. It begins with a big caramel sweetness, along with pronounced orange and peach flavours. The hops are massive, with a dry, grapefruity bitterness that lingers in the mouth. The sweet/bitter contrast is quite extreme here. The alcohol present makes it more of a sipper than a quaffer. Yet a another fine crazy brew from Mikkeller.

Whoaaa! What a beer! I let it warm up a bit out of the fridge. It poured with a huge, foamy, frothy, sudsy, cream colored head that mostly settled down and lots of clingy lace. Color is a cloudy medium amber with plenty of bubble trails. Aroma is a heady whiff of very fresh poetent hops, malt, fruits, caramel, and a faint fleeting hint of solvent. Flavor is much the same. Great body and carbonation. Finish is very long and like flavor. Too rich and strong (although no sense of alcohol) to be a session.
