Very nice Mikkeller. Nice carbonated. Lots of hopp. Nicely balanced beer. Yes hopfully Mikkeller will brew more of this kind.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Huge aroma of hops and caramel. Pours a deep toffee amber with off white foam head.
Taste is what a IIPA should be - malt, toffee, caramel, dark fruits....but then giving way to floral, zest hop tastes. Alcohol taste of course.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a very cloudy orange. Aroma is a sweetness, grapefruit, and some pine. Taste is similar. Starts with a nice malt then the massive amount of hops.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle. Rated on 14.10.2012.
Pours a hazy murky orange colour with a small head. Aroma of piney hops, caramel and exotic fruitiness. Flavour of strong caramel malts, exotic fruits such as kiwi and floral piney hops. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and high carbonation. Great bitterness paired with the exotic fruitiness, but overall (sic) this is a bit too rough.

lost my notes on this one. Floral and spicy aroma, obvious Simcoe. Sticky palate with a bitter finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very smooth, resiny and juicy. Very good balance for my tastes. Sweet with notes of caramel and orange. Funk and cheese here and there especially in the aroma. Floral as well as with a twist of pepper, but overall sweet yet hoppy. Very tasty and interesting. I’ll have another.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
300ml borwn bottle. Dark gold pour, hazy. Creamy white cap, a few fingers thick. Some good clingy lines of lacing in the glass. Sweet nose, big malt, tropical fruitiness. Taste, sweet malts, fruity hops with notes of tropical fruit and grape. Ends with grapefruit and tangerines. Alcohol is not well hidden. Medium bitter. Big thick body, mild carbonation. Pretty heavy handed and sweet, yet enough hoppy enough to keep me drinking it.

Slightly sour giving an awesome balance to the taste. Great aroma. A very good example for an IIPA!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle pours a cloudy golden orange color with a 3 finger white head that leaves some really nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and light toasted cereal grains with a nice blend of citrus and hints of alcohol. Taste is light toasted and bold caramel malty sweetness with a pleasant citrus and grassy hop bitterness. Medium to heavily bodied with some decent carbonation. A little malt forward for the style, but still a very enjoyable brew. Has a barley wine flavour to it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Location: 11.2 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 9/12/12
Aroma: The nose is heavy sweet malts, with some caramel, toast, orange, and grapefruit
Appearance: It pours a murky looking orange color with a small white head
Flavor: The taste is heavy sweet, malts overpower the more subtle citrusy hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-full, it has a stickiness to it, a soft carbonation, and a mildly dry finish
Decent overall, but it drank more like a hoppy Barley wine then a IIPA. The malt proportion is a little high, compared to the hops. This is another one that I can’t vouch for the age of, maybe Buy is to blame for the hops being subdued, or maybe that is what the beer is like fresh, I can’t know for sure unless I have it again. If it were a Barley Wine, I probably would have given the overall a higher score.
