4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy darkish orange, looks great. Nose of dank hops and fermented dark fruits. Loads of flavors going on here, tobacco, orange, grapefruit, toffee, some sort of sugared candy(can’t pinpoint it), caramel malts. Bitter finish that softens to reveal wood and earth flavors. Big big hoppy flavors, your certainly not going to have a kolsch after this.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Might not be entirely fair to rate this one as-is, since it’s clearly not in optimum condition, but I am not going to be headed to Copenhagen or to Belgium anytime soon, plus they charged me $6.99 for a 12oz. so here goes.
The head is not much; it has a slushy look that leaves spots of residue on the sides. It’s not so much lacing as it is the kind of spots you get after you take a glass out of the dishwasher.
Aroma is definite chlorine, kind of reminiscent of what you get from BrewDog after it’s been on the shelves for a bit. You can tell it was probably a highly-hopped piece of work, but it’s softened up considerably. What there IS is a grainy husk, a little sweet, but akin to a barleywine. It does have a sting of resinous, dank hop after it warms up a tad.
The flavor is ... well, it’s not lightstruck, but it’s off. The malts, again, are closer to a barleywine than an IPA: they are more sugary and the alcohol is not masked even a little bit. It’s metallic, with a hint of lacquer/nail polish. (That could just be the booze.) The hop mostly lingers in the aftertaste. It’s not bad at all, just not that distinctive.
The palate is thick and chunky, but with an oily exterior. It works mostly. This baby is a slow sipper, and I doubt I’m throwing the curve off too much here. I’m sure off the shelves in Denmark it’s a hell of a beer, but you might expect some unexpected changes to the flavors stateside.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours hazy, dark orange with a small, firm yellow head with good retention. Quite sinisterly for an IPA. Nose shows tones of dried fruits - apricot, banana, apple. Some dampened wood and toffee comes through as a big malt back bone. Touch of pine there too. Taste is very resinous and sticky like caramelised dates and fig, some huge dried apricot and tangy citrus notes with pine and a big sweet caramel back bone. A touch too sweet with a bit of heat from the alcohol. Done well but not as classy as some other To Ol beers I’ve had. Although this bottle is a touch older than most of them

This one is cloudy orange in color with an off-white head. The aroma is citrus and hops. Taste is citrusy hops with a bitter finish. It flows across the palate with strong carbonation. Overall a good beer that I am enjoying.

Bottle, 33 cl. Hazy golden amber with a nice, frothty white head, good retention and lace. High hoppy aroma. Peach and grapefruit. Flavor is light malty sweet caramel, toasted with a hight dose of fruity hops and a massive bitterness in the finish. Drinkabillity is high albeit the ABV.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
In short: A brutal Double IPA abrasive in all fronts. Very low drinkability.
How: Bottle 330ml, consumed soon after purchase, however fresh a Danish Double IPA can be in a Vermont store.
The look: Muddy orange-amber body topped by a small off-white head.
In long: Nose has lots of ripe fruits (apricots, passion fruits, gooseberries), moldy bread, dank basement, this is far from a bright and vibrant aroma. Taste is very boozy upfront (10.5% very apparent), a lot of toasted crunchy sugary sweetness, sweet mangos, dried and candied fruits, banana peels, bitter orange peels, pine tree, hops resin. Abrasive harsh bitterness. My god this was a brutal beer, hard to find anything good to say about an excessively aggressive beer like this one. Unfortunately it is becoming more and more apparent that the goal is now to make intensely tasty beer, but I prefer a discreet blandly drinkable mild ale over an brutal slap in the mouth like this beer. Everything I don’t like about a Double IPA. Overall IIPA is overall a IIPA that is overall too brutal so I will not be all over Overall because overall Overall IIPA is not a IIPA that is overall good even if Overall gets overall good ratings I don’t think Overall is good overall.

Straight orange pour from bottle. Not much head. Crazy tropical citrus taste. Thick and heavy. Enjoyable beer but 1 at a time
