COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: English: Overall IIPA is - as the name denotes - an Imperial India Pale Ale created in close collaboration between To Øl and our good friends from Mikkeller. The mission was to create a hommage to the American beerculture, where beers needs to have flavour, taste and style, contrary to the urine-colored pseudo beer that we often drink in Denmark!
By first draught Overall IIPA has a sligthly caramelized malt profile, which gives you time to rest before your tastebuds are bombarded by a plethora of hop sensations, giving you hints of pines, citrus and grape. These are just barely harnessed by the sweetness of the alcohol. You suddenly realise that Overall IIPA is "overall" in your mouth and that drinking is living. For a short while you forget your tax-payments, work and the dishes. You relax and your shoulders drop down a couple of inches. You get carried away in a dream before you realise that your glass is empty and you need another one! Cheers!
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, flaked oats, hops (Simcoe, Amarillo and Centennial) and yeast.

Bottle pour murky brownish orange. Nose large dank hop, Some over ripe fruit, caramel malt, and hint of vegetal. Taste bitter bite up front then then dankness. Early palate some alcohol and high bitterness. Late palate slight grainy malt fading into a vague sweet. Lingering bitter finish. Oily mouth feel. Lots of progression of flavors, but not all are pleasing.

Aroma is intense hops, herbs, lemon, orange peel and orange juice. Appears a cloudy gold with a thin foam rim. Taste is very juicy orange, lemon, passionfruit, herbs, hops and a strong boozey finish. Overall, a little too juice forward for my tastes but pretty decent.

Aroma is malty and slightly skunky with a ripe vegetal taste. Color is slightly murky tangerine pumpkin yellow with a fluffy of white head. Sharp bitterness hits the tongue first but is immediately followed by a very sweet caramel malt flavor that balances it out very well. The bitterness mellows out into a more full bodied earthy bitterness which then evolves into grapefruit and pineapple notes. That bitter flavor hangs around for a long time in a delicious way. Very evocative of Pliny the Elder. A delicious double IPA and another stellar Mikkeller beer.

Bottle. Hazy light orange-gold with a light golden head. Very hoppy aroma, citrus rind, conifer, light phenols, sweet malty undertones. The palate is sticky with sweet candyish malts holding up the massive hop load. As hoppy as this thing is, it is equally malty as well, with a fair bit of residual sugars, lending this beer a distinctly barley wine feel for me. Yum.

Bottled. Pours hazy pale amberwith a large and lacing, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, piney notes, peach and citrus. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and solid bitter. Medium bodied, oily text. and soft carb. An excellent 2x IPA.
