COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: English: Overall IIPA is - as the name denotes - an Imperial India Pale Ale created in close collaboration between To Øl and our good friends from Mikkeller. The mission was to create a hommage to the American beerculture, where beers needs to have flavour, taste and style, contrary to the urine-colored pseudo beer that we often drink in Denmark!
By first draught Overall IIPA has a sligthly caramelized malt profile, which gives you time to rest before your tastebuds are bombarded by a plethora of hop sensations, giving you hints of pines, citrus and grape. These are just barely harnessed by the sweetness of the alcohol. You suddenly realise that Overall IIPA is "overall" in your mouth and that drinking is living. For a short while you forget your tax-payments, work and the dishes. You relax and your shoulders drop down a couple of inches. You get carried away in a dream before you realise that your glass is empty and you need another one! Cheers!
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, flaked oats, hops (Simcoe, Amarillo and Centennial) and yeast.

In short: A brutal Double IPA abrasive in all fronts. Very low drinkability.
How: Bottle 330ml, consumed soon after purchase, however fresh a Danish Double IPA can be in a Vermont store.
The look: Muddy orange-amber body topped by a small off-white head.
In long: Nose has lots of ripe fruits (apricots, passion fruits, gooseberries), moldy bread, dank basement, this is far from a bright and vibrant aroma. Taste is very boozy upfront (10.5% very apparent), a lot of toasted crunchy sugary sweetness, sweet mangos, dried and candied fruits, banana peels, bitter orange peels, pine tree, hops resin. Abrasive harsh bitterness. My god this was a brutal beer, hard to find anything good to say about an excessively aggressive beer like this one. Unfortunately it is becoming more and more apparent that the goal is now to make intensely tasty beer, but I prefer a discreet blandly drinkable mild ale over an brutal slap in the mouth like this beer. Everything I don’t like about a Double IPA. Overall IIPA is overall a IIPA that is overall too brutal so I will not be all over Overall because overall Overall IIPA is not a IIPA that is overall good even if Overall gets overall good ratings I don’t think Overall is good overall.

Straight orange pour from bottle. Not much head. Crazy tropical citrus taste. Thick and heavy. Enjoyable beer but 1 at a time

Pours deep amber with a fading head. Masses of pine and resinous hops on the nose along with a massive hit of clean malt and caramel. Super full-on flavours, heaps of pine and resinous, spicy and earthy hops along with loads more clean malt underneath. Finishes with an aggressive but balanced bitterness. Carbonation could be a bit higher.

Pours completely opaque amber with a short, yellow/tan head. Aroma of pine, gin, peach,...sugary. Taste is syrupy sweet tropical fruit, caramel, spices, pepper, with a slight alcohol bitter alongside the hops.... Very complex, highly malted, highly sweet, highly bittered, high ABV.... A little rough, but much more tasty than expected... Big...nicely balanced.

(33 cl from kbudd19. Thanks!)

What is that heavenly sent wafting from the bottle, its yummers is what it is. Glowing cloudy tan body with almost no cap floating on top, it sure look perrty. This aroma is what I live for...heavy heavy peach, lots of tropical fruit, hints of caramel malt. I must drink now!!! Sweet peachy front with big bitter finish. Caramel, pineapple, peach, leather. Wholly crap the drool I’m producing is retarded. I think I might be overselling this beer. I keep hitting vanilla........ seems odd. Tobacco and ash, all is good with life. Why is this beer so pricy, I’d buy so much more but the price per bottle stops me.

Pours a cloudy golden colour with a big fluffy dirty white head leaving nice lace up the glass. Aroma is sweet orange citrus, sweet maltiness, fruity and notes of pine. Flavour is sweet caramel, citrus, pine, some alcohol(not harsh), spiciness, bitterness is high and lingers into the aftertaste without being harsh but much more enjoyable and a dry finish. Very well balanced IIPA.
