Draft at Brouwer’s Cafe. Murky burnt tangerine pour with a small eggshell cap. Very fruity with dark berry, meat, and skin prominent. Caramel, toffee, and honey providing a sweeter backbone. Mild, but noticeable coffee undertones and a grassy hop bitterness in the finish. Not a bad beer, just wish the coffee was more pronounced.

Draft at Brouwer’s. Poured into a snifter, hazy amber with some lacing. Aroma: whoa coffee inviting. Also floral and piney hops.. Taste: coffee is really nice in this! Moderate hop bitterness. Some oxidation, but it’s well-placed. Slick texture, full body, average carbonation. Overall: comes together at least as well as stone’s dayman IPA. Yum. 8.5/4.5/8/4/16

Bottle at Mikkeller Bar Viktoriagade, july 17th 2013. Hazy orange body, medium creamy beige head. Aroma of grapefruit, peach, caramel and coffee. Roasted coffee taste with fruity hops in a nice combination, good malt sweetness balanced with a high bitterness both from hops and coffee. Works very well. Long roasty and fresh finish, a nice beer!

Bottle from the Bayou. Pouts brown with an inch of white foam. When I read the description I was dubious, but after the first sip I said "My god! They’ve pulled it off." Nice coffee notes on the nose less of the roasted kind and more of the brewed variety. Nice coffee notes on the tongue with a bug burst of bitterness to clean things up. Nice!

270913. Bottle at Nordic, Tampere. Pours hazy copper with a small head. Aroma hops, alcohol, coffee. Smooth impy taste with a hint of coffee. Works better than expected. Not Bad.

Average sizez, creamy head; leaves a wide, compact film. Amber color, hazy, cloudy body. Aroma is slightly hoppy: fruits, resin, pineapple and coffee. Body is moderate, carbonation is low; mouthfeel is creamy, thick, strong. Finish is long and bitter. Taste is slightly coffee, fruity, smoothly bitter. Complex and very well balanced.

0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. A cloudy deep caramel colored beer with lots of floaters and a small heavy lacing off-white top. It definitely has an interesting aroma. Well hoppy with lots of real bitter and almost pungent citrus zest, some ripe berries, almonds and the coffee actually hits you way back in the nose. A really different one, and I like it. Love the flavors here. It has a dark roasted malty flavor, really pleasant. The mouthfeel is good oily and the carbonation level is just below average. The coffee shines through as does salmiakk, ripe blue and purple berries and a nice hoppy bitterness. A really tasty one! 08.06.2013

12 ounce sample on tap at The Press Club in San Francisco. The aroma has some vinous, ethanolic notes, which are soon swallowed by a big waft of coffee. Very unique aroma, but not sure if that’s good. Moderately hazy orange body with a creamy, off-yellow head. Great lacing present. Starts sweet, sticky, and vinous. Lots of heavy, buttery and butterscotch diacetyl here. This diacetyl cannot even be masked with the coffee flavor. Warming. A flawed beer that is worsened by the attempt to hide the flaw.
