Bottle from Healthy Spirits. Pours orange copper with a rich beige head and a coffee and citrus aroma. There is a nice fruity and coffee flavor with a warm alcohol finish. It all goes together real well.

11.2oz bottle. Best by on the cap appears to read 8/3/14. Airy tan head that quickly fades. Bubbles on the side of the glass. Little dots of lace. Totally hazy amber color. This is my first Coffee IPA, so I don’t know how they’re typically done, but this has an impressively big coffee aroma. Some earthy hops. Light bitter, light alcohol bite. Smooth lighter carbonation, but something is holding it back from being drinkable. Maybe it’s the spicy note, or the intense coffee flavor, or the exceedingly dry texture. Anyway, the brew does get noticeably smoother after it’s had a chance to sit for a while. Herbal, floral hop profile. Some orange. Very interesting brew. Even when they’re not entirely fantastic, creative brews like this always hold my attention
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 rxeight (483) - Illinois, USA - SEP 14, 2012
Pours a very translucent brown orange. not even cloudy, looks more like a jar candle than liquid. Aroma has a very earthy malt with a bit of citrius. Taste has a slight hoppy IPA with a bit sour and burnt stale coffee. Not a big fan or this one.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 alexsdad06 (3102) - Ohio, USA - SEP 2, 2012
Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a hazy orange brown amber color with a small off white head. The aroma is roasted coffee that is leaning toward being burnt, some earthy hops and a slightly out of place sweetness. The flavor is a bit strange; early sweetness and citrus, before being overtaken by the roasted/burnt coffee and earthy hops. This one was interesting, but not something I would seek out and drink regularly.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Trev (1674) - Lakeville, Minnesota, USA - AUG 31, 2012
Murky brownish dirty dishwater colour with a huge foamy yellowish beige head.
aroma is Espresso and citrusy hop. Caramel and pine as well. Somewhat medicinal tinge to the nose.
Body is smooth and not to sticky which is impressive considering the alc.
Light carbonation. Flavours blend nicely, bright citrusy fruit alongside lightly bitter chocolate/espresso roastiness. Like the aroma, the citrus transitions to more of a pine towards the end.

Wow. I thought I would surely hate this. Especially since it’s an IPA that I kind of left sitting in my fridge for a couple months, however, maybe that helped it? Nice somewhat sweet, lightly caramel like, roasted coffee aroma, light metallic, like a caramel coffee turtle treat. Flavor follows, very pleasant, rich, flavors all work together, having a hard time believing this, the hops play wonderfully with the coffee, bit piney, faint citrus, I can’t believe this, it’s really freaking tasty! Citrus & roast, like a reverse black IPA. Not something I want to drink all the time but very very nicely done.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Very interesting, slight tartness/acidity. Hint of chocolate, citrus, pine. Slight hint of coffee. Surprisingly well balanced and drinkable.

Pours hazy gold into a Sam glass. Soapy off-white head recedes leaving spot lacing. Smoky espresso and earthy manure aromas. Medium bodied with slight metallic upfront turning to chocolate and espresso in the lasting finish.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 budznsudz (337) - Audubon, New Jersey, USA - AUG 25, 2012
Drank from a 12oz. bottle. Aroma is hops and espresso. Tastes like they poured a cup of black coffee into an ipa. It’s interesting but a little challenging to get through. I don’t know how they justify charging $10 for a 12oz.
4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ontbeermaker (1859) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 4, 2012
I think this is truely the best smelling beer i have smelt, I want to give at least a 12/10. Pretty good smelling stuff. it smells like tuttie fruity with coffee, that may not sound to amazing but it is. the taste is simlar to this but its not quite the same bang as the smell. Overall this beer was very yummy, a nice bitterness as a good finish, recommend a taste
