Bottled. Poured medium reddish-amber with a short eggshell head. The aroma picked up sweet caramel and fruity notes with accents of fresh grass and herbs.. warm and a touch too sugary, but it held the boozage in check. The flavor found tart fruits and bright peppery notes upfront, with bready malts supporting.. spicy with peppery booze on the fairly hot finish. Medium-plus bodied and aggressive once it hit the mouth.. OK feel and flow.. solid overall, but just OK for the style.

This brew pours a hazy reddish-amber color with a medium foamy off-white head that dissipates slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malt, caramel and ripe fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of sweet caramel, grainy malt and a touch of piney hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Above average overall.

375ml bottle @Cimmeria. Malty, caramel and some spicy aromas. Pours dark amber, almost clear, with off-white head, vanishing, some lacing. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is malty, sweet, caramel, with alcohol noticed, but not overwhelming. Well balanced, not very usual in barleywines. Nice and enjoyable.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2013 0.375 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Reddish amber color. Sweet aroma with raisins, toffee, citrusy hops and some hot alcohol. Bittersweet caramelly and citrusy flavor with raisins and tropical fruits (apricot?). Full rounded body. Not bad, but there seems to be lots of everything, too much hot alcohol and caramel.

375 ml green bottle poured a hazy reddish amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of carmel, leather, mustiness, earthiness, dried fruit and pepper. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of toffee, earthiness, leather, pepper and light fruittiness with a smooth dry lingering peppery toffee finish.

Bottle shared at DC tasting. Unfiltered orange-brown. Foamy soapy off-white head. Sweet honey fruit aroma. The "dry" hops the Belgians employ here work really well, balancing the malty richness. I really enjoyed this.

Tasted from the bottle, on 12/12/2012. Pours of just incredibly beautiful dark-dark copper with an immense foamy head. Aroma is almost intense, citrusy and slightly sour in the end. Taste is amazing, lovely and complex, just overloaded with hops. Recommended+ ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Off orange pour with a tall thick small bubbled white head w/ good lacing. Dry grassy musty hop aroma hot alcohol after that lacks the malty backbone aroma that I would expect from a barleywine. Well coated lightly creamy palate. Easy to drink mix of musty earthy woody hops and a light caramel malt backbone. Subtle for a big style but easy to drink and pretty good.

Orange/amber colored beer with an off-white head. Big caramel and toffee malt sweetness to the nose. Some toast, bread, and plenty of citrus. Mild pine and some floral notes, too. Really nice balance to the flavor. Plenty of malt sweetness in the form of caramel and toffee with a hint of brown sugar. Some pine and citrus peel bitterness, mild floral notes, and a hint of alcohol.
