Oh man! This is so intense. Great hoppy aroma (citrus, tropical fruit and resin) mixed with some caramel nailed it! Awesome taste of sweet, barley wine mixed with some hops. 5 out of 5. No doubt at all.

profumo accattivante e ma senza esagerazioni o estremi morbida in bocca con una piacevole persistenza di amaro che aiuta a non far risaltare la componente alcolica

Sampled draft @ Borefts 2013. I think that I had “Our is bigger than all of your” which I am assuming is the same beer as this one, if I am wrong let me know. Dark fox rhubarb brown, white bubbles. Nose is sweet malts, sticky raspberry, bit jam, toffee, thick marmalade, sweet spices, candy sugar,… Taste is thick raspberry, syrupy, alcoholic raspberry sticky, touch booze, candy sugar, thick caramel, very sticky malts, dark fruits, touch molasses,… Thick, sticky malt body. Great stuff.

maybe i was influenced by this beer’s name, but the label in the store looked like it didn’t have a space: to øl = toøl ~ tool

12-APR-2013, tap @Mikkeller & Friends, with Marianne. Unclear amber with tan head. Candy sugar, bread, dried fruit, hops. Taste the same. Even better and longer than the aroma. Full body and soft carbonation. Fantastic barley wine. Marianne drinks half of my glass:)

hazy reddish-brown colour, surprisingly high, stable yellowish head; aroma of dried fruits, some herbal notes, caramel, hints of citruses and alcohol; taste is the same; really goo barley wine

An extremely tasty BW. Aroma is on the mild side, but do pick up caramel and orange Julius. Flavor is like nose & traditional BW, very heavy bittersweet, nice complementary dose of carbonic tang and hops. Big beer. Good for slow drinkin.

Danish barley wine brewed in Belgium. Moussy, yellowish white, dense head leaving good lacing and retaining remarkably well considering the impressive ABV; colour is a truly stunning pure copper, clear with fine sparkling. Lovely fruity and earthy aroma, very complex and seductive, with hints of orange liqueur, cognac, candi sugar, madera and sherry, butterscotch, peaches in syrup, black pepper, red apple, banana, mango, leather, sweet tobacco, dried ginger, honey, amaretto, grapefruit, sweat and something faintly smoky. Sweet onset, candi syrup, raisins, apple juice, marzipan, sherry; resinous, smooth but thick and full, very vinous mouthfeel, deep caramelly and honeyish malt sweetness, chocolatey accents, medium carbonation, spicy notes all around, retronasal perfume, finishing long and dry with brandy- and liqueur-like, heart warming alcohol, earthy and somewhat ’dusty’ yeastiness, bonbon-like sweetness and peppery, sharpish and assertive hop bitterishness. Barley wines are one of my favorite styles on a gloomy winter’s day like today and this is a very good example, though perhaps a tad too sweet to comfortably finish the whole 37.5 cl bottle - yet the complexity of the aroma makes up for that. Highly recommended if you are into this particular style and I am convinced this has a huge aging potential.
