3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 olio (4093) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUN 30, 2012
33 cl bottle. BBE 17.04.2015.
Pours hazy dark red color with a frothy head, leaves a nice lacing behind. Aroma of chocolate malts, mild dark berry notes, fairly strong coffee, caramel and a hint of nuts. Flavor of sweetish sugar, dryish chocolate, bitter dark toasted malts, some ripe fruit notes and some coffee also. Strong carbonation, dry malty and a bit chocolaty creamy palate with a short malt finish. The aroma is quite nice, but the palate feels slightly watery though. Quite good nonetheless.

Very different from other Coffee beers I’ve tasted. I got the feeling like I was eating coffee filter with very old and dry coffee in it. Huge disappointment.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 lusikka (4047) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUN 26, 2012
330 ml bottle.
Pours a dark brown colour with a firm, creamy and nice lacy head. Aroma of bitter hops, pleasant roasted coffee, caramel and some grains. Flavour of sweet caramel, cream, roasted (and light bitter) coffee, dark chocolate and bitter grassy hops. No off-flavours from the coffee whatsoever. Medium bodied, dryish mouthfeel and a dry, strong coffee finish with high bitterness. Alcohol warms nicely in the end and gives some length to the finish. If I had more of this I’d skip coffee in the morning and drink this.

Botella de 330ml. Vaso de ˝ Pinta. Saboreada en jun´12. Color marrón rojizo y tintes rubí oscuro a contraluz.

Pours deep brown with a big, staying, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of cold coffee, caramel, softly roasted malts and citric hops. Medium carbonation, fairly light and dry mouthfeel. Flavour has quite a sweet malts base, caramel, quite a bit of coffee dryness with some cocoa-powder notes. A nice brown ale, but it not fantasticly balanced.
