This is our attempt of substituting the morning mochaccino coffee with a beer. You get the nicely roasted chocolate malts, some creamy lactose for the milk and a shot of nutty espresso coffee in your mug. And then some alcohol, it seemed just as obvious as vodka in a white russian. We do not recommend opting for this beer instead of coffee (all the time...) – Original “The Monday Morning Mochaccino Messiah”

Ingredients: Water, Malted barley, flaked oats, lactose, Hops (Simcoe, Citra, Nelson Sauvin, Centennial), coffee and Yeast.

Poured dark brown with a think white head. Aroma: coffee, yeast, sweet citrus hops. 1st thing that hit me when I tasted it was how nutty it was in flavour, then the sweet caramel/toffee kicks in followed by a lovely bitterness from the hops. Really well balanced beer. Recommended!!

Bottle. Dark brown body with a medium offwhite head. Aroma of strong coffee, nuts, citrusy hops. Taste is roasty with biscuit, caramel, pine and citrus, thick body, milk chocolate and coffee in finish with citrus and a dense bitterness. A remarkable beer for sure.

BOTTLE 33CL from ivodoni1. Look: red-brown almost black, big beige frothy head. Aroma: sweet cold coffee, black malts, fudge, some hops, burn notes. Taste: old coffee, strong hop bitterness, residual sweetness, hop notes. Interesting, but that „cold sweetened coffee” character somehow does not work.

Tap @ Kaapse Brouwers. I’ll qualify this rating by noting I was able to try the beer, although it was the last glass of the fust, with lots of yeast and residuals, resulting in a very murky, sluggish appearance. Nose is sweet mocha, bit of coffee and chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, mocha. Quite some yeast bitterness and grittyness, which I wont take into account. Underneath there is a lovely balanced mocha beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Stas. Brown with a beige head. Aroma of coffee, a bit "green", roast and a bit of nuts. Sweetish flavor, a bit bitterish, with coffee, malt, a caramel note, a nutty hint, a tobacco touch and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Good.
