COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Sometimes when you’re drunk you can see better."

This is the lager. This is the pilsner, the lager, the bottom fermented beer. This is the Captain on the deck, one of the lone lagers cruising on the ocean of ale. To Øl actually loves lager type beers, and sometimes lagers is missed out because of the many great ales present. Problem is that most people who brew lagers apparently has a taste of old dusty piss yellow obnoxious stale impotent beers. So now was the time to stir things up and tell the people how you can do a super hoppy, well balanced pilsner type beer!

Bottled, 330ml from Beer Hawk, Harrogate, N.Yorks, many thanks to Derek & Kelsey for this. Burnished gold with white head. This is a lager quite unlike any other, perhaps there should be an Indian Premium Lager category as this would travel the world well with this amount of hopping. Hops to the fore, hops to the centre and hops to the rear, grassy, tropical fruity and citrus. Plenty of bitterness all on a light malt body. Bottom fermented, it would appear so. Excellent beer.

from la Mise en Bière - quite clear amber-orange beer, little beige foam left; some biscuity maltiness and a fair hop presence of ripe fruits and pine; solidly tasty, clean, rounded and crisp; very bitter and long fruity and grassy hoppy finish

Grumbo (1171) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - JUN 4, 2016
A bottle some months ago in the Ale House, Chelmsford. Poured a hazy amber/gold colour with an average sized just off-white head. Aroma of citrus, hop, pine, biscuit, caramel and bread. Medium sweetness and bitterness, quite dry. Towards medium bodied, average carbonation. Pretty decent and not what’s typically billed as ’premium lager’.

Deep amber hoppy lager that has very well balanced bitterness and a lovely, appropriate hop character. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear amber colour with a thick head that lasts a long time. Aroma is dominated by hops, mostly citrus fruits. Taste starts with sweet fruits, evolved into hoppy citrus notes and ends with a bitter finish. Doesn’t really remind me of a lager, but great beer nonetheless.

33cl bottle, bought at Melger’s, Haarlem and poured into a long stemmed tulip glass on 20-May-2016. Hazy dark amber colour with a thick off-white head. Aroma of orange peel, citrus, malt and pine. Medium body and carbonation. Fruity flavour - some citrus sweetness then a bitter punch followed by a malty caramel backbone - almost bread-like. Heavily hopped. Nice lacing down the glass. More APA than lager in my opinion, but nonetheless a great tasty beer.

Amber colour. Modest white head. Hints of fruits, hints of citruces, hints of malts in the aroma. Citrussy and caramelly at first. Slight sweetness in the middle. Fruitiness. Slightly hoppy, bitter finish. Malts in aftertaste. Quite light bodied, medium carbonated, well drinkable beer.

Intruiging fruity aroma. Great body. Lush. Some hops. Gently bitter. Nice rings.

Clear, golden/orange colour, thick foamy head. Rich aroma, plenty of fruit (orange), some spice and herbs as well, kind of sweet overall. Great taste, surprisingly hoppy and refreshing for a lager. Slightly dry and bitter finish. Light and slick moutfeel with medium carbonation. Really good lager although it feels a lot like a pale ale.
