"Sometimes when you’re drunk you can see better."

This is the lager. This is the pilsner, the lager, the bottom fermented beer. This is the Captain on the deck, one of the lone lagers cruising on the ocean of ale. To Øl actually loves lager type beers, and sometimes lagers is missed out because of the many great ales present. Problem is that most people who brew lagers apparently has a taste of old dusty piss yellow obnoxious stale impotent beers. So now was the time to stir things up and tell the people how you can do a super hoppy, well balanced pilsner type beer!

Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen
Cloudy amber color with small creamy head. The aroma is quite fruity, fresh, with stone fruits and a touch of tropical fruits; also a bit dusty. Malt flavor, and strong hopping, quite fruity, not as fresh as it could be, and with some hop resins; medium dry mouthfeel.
Very good hop beer, with two thirds of hop quality (but a bit too heavy on the light caramel).

Draught. Slightly hazy, deep golden colour with a small, creamy white head. Fruity aroma with pines, grasses, citrus, peach and hay. Taste is bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Long lasting bitter, dry finish with a hoppy fruitiness. World class lager!

Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is wet leafs, grass, hops, pine needles, bark, citrus peel, light malts, yeast. Taste is grass, lots of hops, wet leafs, newly cut lawn, soil, bark, pine needles. Longlasting bitterness. Fair enough, but don’t really take this for beeing a lager beer.

UPDATED: AUG 2, 2013 So how does this lager type stack up to it’s rival IPA and APA buddies... Its colour stays yellow, some haze, its smell suggest there’s many hops and indeed there are. Pineapple, nectarine..? but the taste resembles the American Dream, this still has that lager type base as kind of light and a tad watery. Hops just make this bitter, add some honey or caramel and perhaps we’re there. This is rather good, but a bit "lager". Rerate:03.08.13, deserves a better score, "lager gone good" type of beer.
