"Sometimes when you’re drunk you can see better."

This is the lager. This is the pilsner, the lager, the bottom fermented beer. This is the Captain on the deck, one of the lone lagers cruising on the ocean of ale. To Øl actually loves lager type beers, and sometimes lagers is missed out because of the many great ales present. Problem is that most people who brew lagers apparently has a taste of old dusty piss yellow obnoxious stale impotent beers. So now was the time to stir things up and tell the people how you can do a super hoppy, well balanced pilsner type beer!

Tap at the Craft Beer Co - 14/09/12. Clear dark golden with a thin off-white head. Hops, grapefruit, grass and pine on the nose. Taste pretty much exactly as nose. Medium bodied, higher than medium carbonation level - slightly prickly. Crisp grapefruit flavour in the finish.

smells of cow pen and aldehyde. taste is very unbalanced the bitterness overrides any finesse. This hop cocktail resembles anjelica, almost undrinkable. It was a well kept bottle at micro bar in Reykjavík.

0.33 L bottle from Kihoskh, enjoyed at Besser Rev, Samsø. A bright orange colored beer, topped by a white coarse foamy head. Big fruity hop aroma. Tropical and citrus, and notes of mild hop oils. Gently sweet fruit flavor. Some lightly toasted malts is present, but fruity/floral and resinous hops is dominating. Healthy body. Slick texture. Nice fruity hop linger in the finish. Pilsner extraordinaire!

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Don’t smell like no lager. Super Nelson Sauvin nose, or something. In any case it smells tropically hoppy. Beautiful fruity flavour. Very fizzy and hence crunchy. This is excellent. It tastes as lagery as that other Danish Premium Lager I tried this week, Mikkeller The American, as in not lagery at all. Delish.

Pours light orange. Smells green resin flavours. A bit overhopped for its thin body but very refreshing and bitter. Nice Lager !

On tap at Fairbar.dk, Aarhus. Light golden colour with little white head. Quite fruity and a bitter aftertaste. The alcohol is not really present. Perhaps the best pilsner I've tasted. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Fairbar. A cloudy, orange-golden beer almost without head, just some off-white bubbles. Rather piney and citrusy on the nose, some malty sweetness in the back. Mostly citrusy and piney flavour too, with the expected malty sweetness underneath. Pleasant bitterness. Medium body, a bit low on carbonation maybe. Bitter finish with malty sweetness to bring some balance. Easy drinkable, but a bit ordinary. 120820
