"Sometimes when you’re drunk you can see better."

This is the lager. This is the pilsner, the lager, the bottom fermented beer. This is the Captain on the deck, one of the lone lagers cruising on the ocean of ale. To Øl actually loves lager type beers, and sometimes lagers is missed out because of the many great ales present. Problem is that most people who brew lagers apparently has a taste of old dusty piss yellow obnoxious stale impotent beers. So now was the time to stir things up and tell the people how you can do a super hoppy, well balanced pilsner type beer!

Cloudy orange, rocky offwhite head. Fruity hops aroma. Lovely soft and creamy mouthfeel, clean flavour of grapefruit and peach, a little caramel. Crisp and dry finish.

330 ml bottle @ Pudel Baar, Tallinn
Clear orange beer with dense white head. Aroma has tropical fruits, sweetness and burnt rubber. Flavor is mostly fruity with some rubber and some malts. Palate is heavy with carbonation, foaming in the mouth - thin but refrehsing. Finish has lots of grapefruity bitterness. A refreshing beer but minus for the rubber (this is the third To Øl lager I find it in) and one-dimensionality.

Pours a clear orange beer with a nice white head. is well carbonated. Smells like fresh hops and also has a little bit of sweetness in the nose. A lot of different fruit hints. Has a nice and gentle bitter taste. The bitterness lingers on for quite a while. Has a really vivid mouth feel. Great beer for its abv.

McNeillR (2170) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 17, 2014
Pale creamy golden with a decent dunt of a white head and peering carbonation. Steely, raw egg white melony and pissy sherbert. Extremely rich and cheekily hoppy initial taste, quenching and juicy gooseberry throughout. Smacks of lime and resin moving to tinglingly bitter pink grapefruit which tangs out onto the finish. Peppery, pilsnery - really whistles along the palate with a brass neck of bitterness. Linger is more lucious, bittering pinky pink grapefruit. Exceptional stuff, nevermind to squeeze out of a lager.

Bottle, as Sportsøl, BeerHive, Edinburgh

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2015 Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This is a hazy golden beer with sharp citrus and tropical fruit flavours, a creamy mouthfeel and bitter grapefruit and orange peel on the finish. Excellent for its relatively low ABV.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a thin white head that quickly fades. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lemon, flowers and freshly cut grass. Bitter, hoppy flavour - light citrus zest, biscuit and sharp (but not unpleasant) metallic tang. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. A floral, easy drinking beer.

Tropical fruit, clean yeast, mango, grapefruit, light biscuity body. Quite bitter, very clean. Crisp mouth feel, very drinkable despite the bitterness. Very tasty! Characterful clean beer. Love it. (33cl bottle from Beer City)

Light amber, clear, big fizzy head, good lacing
Aroma of fresh grapefruit, fresh citrus, very light pale malts, super fresh citrus aroma
Taste of light pale malts, big fresh grapefruit, dab of orange zest, lemon, light pale malts
Palate - Light body, pale sweet malts, nice fresh zest, very refreshing. Finish has some lingering zest.
Overall - What a great beer - knew it was a 4 straight on tasting it. It was just the right beer at the that time. Came across as an hoppy IPA with a very pale malt base. Uncomplicated, but just does what it does very well. Certainly the best lager I’ve ever had.
