"Sometimes when youre drunk you can see better."

This is the lager. This is the pilsner, the lager, the bottom fermented beer. This is the Captain on the deck, one of the lone lagers cruising on the ocean of ale. To l actually loves lager type beers, and sometimes lagers is missed out because of the many great ales present. Problem is that most people who brew lagers apparently has a taste of old dusty piss yellow obnoxious stale impotent beers. So now was the time to stir things up and tell the people how you can do a super hoppy, well balanced pilsner type beer!

Subdued aroma gives little hint of the hop forward balance of flavour. Bitter finish quickly dissipates and makes one want another taste.

Bottle from Stockmann ( 3,90) in Tallinn. BB 03.2016. Love the label, looks like a Damien Hirst design. Pours a beautiful hazy dark amber with a big off-white top - retains and laces superbly. Nose - splendid lemony-grapefruity-tangeriny-musky-malty bittersweet. There is however a slight note of dank grassiness in the background. Eventually I also get a hint of Nelson Sauvin, after having swirled it quite a bit. Taste begins with malty and succulent fruity sweetness and follows with a more hop-pronounced grapefruity bitterness; finish is very straightforwardly bitter, even roughly so. Medium body and carbonation, palate somewhat grainy and dry. A very bold brew.

Ive enjoyed this tremendously in the past, but not so much this time.

Smells sourly and botanical, association to lemon grass and sauerkraut. Very hoppy in taste, without being too much of a good thing. The bartender considered it a hoppy lager; but it tastes more like hops than of lager. And that is okay.

Sample from bottle @ Brill, 6/10-14. Orange amber, mostly clear and with a dirt white head. Grapefruit, lychee, caramel, grains, pine and some hints of fart. Taste is medium dry and hoppy fruity with grapefruit and lychee, caramel and grains and pine needles. Medium bodied, soft tickling carbonation, slight oily. I get a bit disturbed by the caramel presence. And the sulfur note.

Off white full lasting head. Deep amber colour. Aroma is malty fruity with apricot peach and cumin notes. Flavor is malty too with apples and milky tones, ending in an hoppy finish. Light bodied.

330ml bottle from Beer Hive. Pours clear golden amber, thin white head. Aromas are tropical fruit, pink grapefruit, lime, touch of resin. Taste brings a hint of lagery-ness, but only a hint. Much more hop bitterness as grapefruit. Light body, crisp finish. Nice,

Kita (1590) - Koper, SLOVENIA - SEP 26, 2014
Bottle, 0.33l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Clear pale amber color with thick white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus, tangerine, passion fruit and pine. Taste starts light sweet malty, initially somewhat thin, but quickly develops into rich fruitiness rounded by decent malty backbone, while finish is heavy bitter with long aftertaste. Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Excellently hopped, so un-lager-like...

One word: awesome, pure American hoppiness, packed into a lager envelope. Citric, grapefruity resinous.

Accidenti a sti fenomeni, magari tutte la lager fossero cos, se ne berrebbero a quintalate. Davvero con le contropalle, bevibile ma anche sostanza.

Huge citrus nose, lime. Lovely pink grapefruit hoppiness, peach, decent malty backbone, sharp bitter finish. Solid fruity and hoppy brew, quite impressive for a lager.
