COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Heaven knows no frontiers, and I’ve seen heaven in your eyes"

This is how the Frontier beer series lost their ground, missed direction and finally found themselves again. This beer has no frontiers, meaning that it can now pick and choose among brewing specialties. Instead of being an IPA, this is a rather a Belgian ale, hopped and dryhopped with continental european hops and refermented with brettanomyces. A tart, picturesque and rural beer.

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, hops, Rock Candy, yeast and brettanomyces.

Josh R’s bottle. A generous head, bretty, very drinkable. Hoppy. A fresh aroma. Like a European red ale.

Smells of hops and lots of malt. Hard to detect the brett here. Finishes astringent with some florals. Pours cloudy orange with a little lacing and some head. Slick consistency. Thanks to SlovakSniper for this one.

On tap at The Refuge (San Carlos, CA). Pours a golden caramel with thick off-white head. Smells like a Kriek or Rodenbach Grand Cru (cherries / tart apples / farm) yet tastes like a light IPA, which I found to be an amazingly strange and beautiful concoction. Drink while watching The Triplets of Belleville or The Sound of Music.

Draught. Low fluffy lasting light brown head. Mild sweet and flowery aroma with notes of honey. Slightly sour roasted malt flavor with a nice hoppyness. Just a hint of wood and vanilla. Long bitter finish.

Big offwhite head. Clear amber body with carbonation. Funky dried fruit and barnyard aroma with spicy orangey wooden notes. Dry-sweetish spicy peppery mealy taste with funky dried fruit notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry resiny funky herbal aftertaste with cardamom and eucalyptus notes. Nice, interesting, and highly drinkable. (0.75l bottle, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

Bottle. Amber with a large white head. Aroma of candi sugar, bretty lemon sherbet, sweet and tart apples. Sweet and earthy with caramel, apples and pears; bitterness that struggles a little to break free from the sweetness and light tartness - no great zing from the brett. Some licorice and candied angelica in there too as spices come out at the end. Quite BdGish. Intriguing.

750ml bottle from IPB thanks to Olivier.
Appearance : Slightly hazy amber with small foamy head. Lots of lacing.
Aroma : Dry fruits with resinous hops and light brett but fairly subtle.
Taste : Rich floral and piny hops with resinous finish. Red fruits with light hints of brett. Dry finish.
Palate : Quite fizzy.
Overall : Rather well made, wish the brett would have been a bit more present. Nothing really special but decent stuff and still en enjoyable drink.
