"Heaven knows no frontiers, and I’ve seen heaven in your eyes"

This is how the Frontier beer series lost their ground, missed direction and finally found themselves again. This beer has no frontiers, meaning that it can now pick and choose among brewing specialties. Instead of being an IPA, this is a rather a Belgian ale, hopped and dryhopped with continental european hops and refermented with brettanomyces. A tart, picturesque and rural beer.

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, hops, Rock Candy, yeast and brettanomyces.

Tap at Mikkeller Bangkok. Poured a hazy mediun amber with a thin white head and a little broken lace. The aroma is yeast, slightly vinous. The flavour is light sour with a crisp, refreshing, vinous, light spicy citrus hop palate. Mediun bodied with soft carbonation.

7% bottle from CBB. Served in a snifter. A great ruby caramel pour with a minimal off-white head. A big zesty fruity malt aroma. A very tannic bitter malt taste with a solid citrusy fruity flavor. Very much fruity caramel bitter malts with citrusy hops.

750ml bottles from Beers of Europe. Hazy reddish orange brown colour, big head. Flowery wheat aroma. Sour yeasty grain flavour. Bitter aftertaste. Don’t really like this one.

Bottle. Amber body, almost clear, with a huge white head. Aroma of apples, oranges, caramel, light bretty. Taste of apples, toffee, pepper and brett. Thick body for a brett beer, seems strange though doesn’t lower the beer. Dry and nice finish, though the sweet toffee is still present. Different and nice.

Light fruity, amber malts, plus some biscuit base/ Add some light brown sugar and clearly Belgian yeast to add some sweetness to the mix. Moderately hopped with a mix that was a bit too light and lemony for me. Didn’t really fit the beer. Looks good though and has the fitting heavy carbonation. Brett? Not much to be honest. We did drink it a bit too warm though. Certainly no Orval clone! (Bottle shared by Valentin in between festival sessions during the 1FRBG)
