Owl Farm, Brooklyn bottle pour from 2013 bottle: pours a sediment rixh reddish brown with an off white head. Aroma is toffee, aged beer (think old IPA), yeast. Tase is bitter and feels very aged. The malts have seemingly developed. Pretty thick. Kind of sweet. Not my favorite.

Thank you! Sampled 750 ml. bottle @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2015. Near clear dark amber, tanned bubbles. Nose is warming touch oxidized syrupy malt goop with candy, sugar, light vanilla, slightly vinous. Taste is warming Belgian oxidation candy, malts, sugar, lightly vinous, touch oak, light hops, warming licorice, Turkish delight,… Vintage syrupy malts body. Bit of a conflicting, bit akin to an aged Belgian. Lots of things going on but they seem to all cancel out each other. I am used to better from these guys & this is nowhere near on part with the gorgeous Shamelessly Barrel Aged.

McWorta (1530) - LUXEMBOURG - DEC 16, 2015
Amber-copper (~18EBC) colour with a dark white light beige head, good lacings. Aromas of dried prunes, caramelised figs, dates and pine, raisin cake, bready and herbal light notes of ripe banana, toast and dried dark berries. Softly carbonated, slick and offering a potent body. Malty, dried fruit and herbal sweetness offering a punctured bitterness and light astringency. Lasting sweet bit herbal finish. Pretty good and well balanced, something to age in your cellar.
