37,5cl bottle at home. Somewhat hazy orange with a medium slightly off-white soapy head with long retention. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Medium bitterness with very nice sour tones and some fruity sweetness. Yeast, pine, tart, peach, green apple, wood, citrus, wine and herbs. A very tasty BA saison.

Pours a large frothy white lasting head atop a clouded, sediment filled Amber body. Nose of wood and malt? Smells somewhat like a dubbel while cold. Strange. Flavours is like La Fin du Monde with a Wooden and weedy finish. Pretty tasty. Nothing like a saison. Purchased at Metro Liquors University Heights.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, consumed at home/village hall function, Saturday 27th June 2015 Barrel ageing works really well, it’s probably more subtle than some but still leaves it’s thumbprint. Some woody and tart flavours and a streaky yeastiness, but it’s warming, fruity and a little earthy with a grapey edge. Good. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6

W aromacie początkowo uderzają intensywne nuty kwiatowe, które wraz z ogrzewaniem ustępują miejsca winogronom, ziołom i wyraźnej dębinowej wanilli. W smaku pestkowe winogrona, zioła, wyraźne drewno i wanilia, bardzo miękkie i pełne, alkohol lekko drapie w gardło. Piękna długo utrzymująca się piana. Eleganckie piwo - to adekwatny przymiotnik.

Pours golden amber, off white head that thins quickly. Nose - sweet balsamic. In the mouth balanced with a mere hint of sour but mostly sticky, which is a disappointment as the saison becomes a myth. Nice but not great.

Pours light gold, hazy. Nose has some white wine. Taste is more earthy, generally balanced, with some more white wine on finish. Medium body.

Bottle shared 30/4/14. Pours burnished hold, off-white head. Nose heavy with white wine, plenty of brett funk too. Juicy tart grapes, melon, lime citrus and all sorts. Tastes medium sweet caramel and grapey winey sweetness too, moderate acidity, citric, brett and vinous, gentle noble hop bitterness, some buttery oak, drying brett finish. Not as good as the non-BA version IMO, not quite balanced, but still interesting and rewarding.

Comparing to the non-BA version this one in taste is rubber-like with strong chardonnay taste and aroma, more earthy notes noticable. Moist wood. BA is slighthly more sweet. Not such intense fruity and yeasty character.

Bottle (33cl). Huge off-white head, great retention, leaves the glass covered by lacing. Hazy, amber colour. Lovely, warm aroma of white dessert wine, caramel, grapes, barnyard, resin. Medium body, soft carbonation. Taste has a sweet, fruity core, ’surrounded’ by a mild, brett-dominated dryness, giving a pleasing overall balance.

Special because it is aged I old wine barrels. Wheaty and hoppy at the same time.
