3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Hazy amber body with a creamy, off-white head that leaves a good amount of lacing. Strong, complex and interesting aroma: first I get mainly IPA-ish fruity notes with peach in front, then I recognise a firm fruity tartness and apricot kernels. The strong flavours are definably dominated by the sour stuff, lots of tart fruits, lactic notes and stale white wine. Light to moderate sour taste with a light sweetness and bitterness as well. Mid-bodied, moderate carbonation, very dry finish. Maybe more interesting than really good.

750 ml bottle shared w/ Mike
Pours a deep rich golden with a highlighter-yellow tinted head. Nice aroma of sugared citrus, little funk or barnyard. Peaches and pineapple in the flavor, alcohol very prominent in flavor and mouthfeel alike. Sticky, on the sweet side despite a substantive hop bite that brings an Amarillo aroma but with a flavor that nods to the Hallertau. Brett is basically nowhere to be found. While I don’t really know what to call this, I guess I wouldn’t have thought saison. There’s not that much funk or farmhouse here at all. A bit of a pricey disappointment at $15.99.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Nydalen B&S
Light orange hazy, white head. Smell of yeast esters, light malts, apple and some hops. Light sweet, quite fruity, more apple, some acids, a stenk of alcohol, warming malts, some xitrus, quite dry not at all funky. Moderate to medium bitter finish. Not all that exciting really. The brett and hops does not shine as i expect

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Golden yellow beer with nice thick head on top and beautiful lacing. Aroma has spices, anise, fruits and hints of vanilla. Taste is fruity, yeasty, spicy, and some vanilla and drying after taste. Full body with crispy carbonation and slightly high alcohol content. A more full version of saison for cold winter days.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle 75 cl, BBE 08/2014. Pours golden in color with a massive off-white head. Exotic fruits, faint perfume, summer meadow and lemony notes in aroma. Light funkiness and sweet fruityness too. The aroma is so nice and soft, but yet it feels quite crisp. Hints of bitter grassyness and slightly funky notes in taste at first, also some sweet fruity and spicy notes are present. Refreshing for sure. Not far from a (D)IPA actually. Orange peel and piney notes in aftertaste. Tasty nonetheless, even if the sweetness could have been a bit on a lower level and at the same time a bit more bitterness would had made this an excellent brew. However, this one groves on one and gets more complex and better towards the finish.
