COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: Imperial Whisky Barrel Aged Milk Stout.

English: The beast has landed. A limited one time release Whisky Barrel Aged Imperial Milk Stout at 13,1 % ABV. "Sort Mælk" = "Black Milk"... Oh Yeah!

HopRedHead (322) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 12, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours pitch black with 2cm of rocky dark mocha head. Jesus Lord this looks delicious. Smells like chocolate milk and bourbon, exactly how it should! Oaky vanilla, raisins, soy, chocolate, coffee and booze in the nose. Flavour is smoky chocolate, bourbon, oak vanilla, soy and a warm after taste. 13% is peripheral. Nice thick oily body, lingering raisin, chocolate and bourbon sweetness. Tastes how it smells, which contains a brilliant complexity. This has the ability to be sipped as both a bourbon or a stout, offering a vastly dimensional approach as a unique brew or distilled drop of unlimited deliciousness. Props to To Ol.

Pours black with about a finger of deep tan head. Aroma is massive sweet with vanilla, chocolate, tons of dried dark fruit, muscovado, oh, and a hefty dose of bourbon barrel! Taste is peaty with a thick bourbon sweetness. A bit boozy, a bit too sticky, unbalanced. Sadly, taste and body does not deliver on the promise of the aroma and looks... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle at The Bishop Arms Folkungagatan, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma of moderate whiskey notes, lactose notes, some sweet chocolatey notes, and a bit of residual sugar. Flavour is supremely complex, full of whiskey, lactose notes, cocoa, chocolate, a little coffee and some residual sugar. Amazingly complex, with all the flavours in phenomenal harmony.

Many thanks to Skinnyviking for a 330ml bottle which was shared with Finn back home on Walpurgisnacht. Motor oily pour revealing a two-finger sized, brown-beige head, slowly diminising over a jet black body. Blended smell of black and brown malts, creamy chocolate and subdued alcohol. Fine taste of vanilla chocolate nicely balanced by roasted grain. Lingering ending with warming alcohol and a gentle roasted touch. Full bodied. Velvety in the mouth. Perfect sipper on an eve like this (Tromsø, 30.04.2013).

Black with foamy head. Aroma is roasty. Taste is boozey, roasty and whiskey flavour. Overall, good sweet stout, but bit too noticeably boozey for me.

pitch black. Very moderate aroma, some hints of cask, but malty and some spices as well. Surprisingly smooth, well masked, whiskey is just subtle, long sweet but malty finish. Good stuff.

wow this is intense. This thick black stout has a smokey taste of coffey, caramel, spicy and just overall intense taste that lingers. The 13-something percent is well hidden in loads os flavour and aroma. Really nice but intense brew, that makes the next beer taste watery.

Sample from bottle. Aroma discreet, some dark malt and whisky notes. Taste is complex, whiskey and vanilla notes at first, then lots of dark malt. Finish reminds of cigar ash, long and a bit astringent.

Bottle. An opaque black beer, with a large, frothy, mostly lasting, brown head. The aroma is modeartely to heavily malty (roasted grain, chocolate, molasses, some coffee), with notes of wood, smoke, whiskey, vanilla, licorice, prunes/dark fruits and alcohol. The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Full body, thick texture, soft carbonation, very long finish with light to moderate bitterness, moderately to heavily alcoholic. Excellent aroma, without the whiskey being overwhelming, on the contrary adding complexity. Nicely structured, with a strong amount of booze. Fatiguing, but not to the point of being cloying. A recommended sipper.

33cl bottle. Pours pitch black with an incredible tan head, very nice. The aroma is quite oaky, with lots of licorice notes and hints of dark chocolate. Not exactly as expected. Amazing taste: roasted malts and sweet malts work together in that brew and, of course, without masking the traces of cocoa. Some coffee presence as well (subtle). The wood and the whisky in the back are so evident and pleasant. Mouthfeel is full, good carbonation. Wonderful overall.
