Sur is Danish for sour and Mosaic refers to the hop that this beer is based upon. This is a sour mashed 6% pale ale, where we have tried to give a traditional Pale Ale an lactic acid backbone. The lactic acid comes with acidity, but also a fatness that works really well with the mosaic hop, that gives clear notes of tropical fruits like mango and passion fruit.

500 ml can purchased as a single at House of Brews in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. VP1345 14/04/17 printed on bottom of can. The pour is a hazed murky golden copper with a big 4 inch off white head that is quite lasting, eventually falls with nice splotchy lace. The aroma is soft herbal resin hop, with a hint of grapefruit peel tart bitterness. The taste is the resin, dry floral hops, moving towards the soft somewhat muted tartness of the nose. The tartness carries the finish, and gives the beer a nice bright clean aftertaste. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft natural carbonation and the tart resin finish. Nice one.

Bottle at THT. Almost clear golden with white head. Mosaic hops with onion, weed, light skunk. Sweet malts, honey, light lime peel. Under medium sweet and bitter, and very light sour. Medium bodied. Not nearly as good as the Citra one.

Sampled at THT August. Bottle. Clear golden and white head. Sweet malts, pineapple and passionfruit fruity, light grassy and weedy hops. Medium sweet, light bitter. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very different than the citra version, this is less sour and less minerallike and much more tropical fruity.

Can form Bottle Baron, Edin. Pours pretty clear. Lighter shade of amber. Fluffy just off-white head and shows good lacing in the glass. Soft, red summer fruit aromas. Light strawberry Fruitella’s. Mango. Peach. Good dose of dankness. Banana bread. Very restrained in the funk department. Ditto on the sour notes. It does have a touch of earthy yeast on the nose. Plenty of rich hop character steals the show here. Taste has a lovely sweetness to start. Caramel malts and marmalade. A little tropical juice. Then there’s a crackling bitterness that creeps through. Drying and somewhat assertive. Cream crackers. There’s a little souring tweak towards it’s finish but it’s definitely a little underwhelming in this department. Frothy carbonation. Decent full-enough mouthfeel. Juicy, mouthwatering finish. It should possibly lose points for it’s lack of sour beer character?.....but it’s so damn tasty!!

500ml can pours a hazy pale amber color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is pine and citrus with some caramel and tropical fruit tones. Taste is a pine and citrus hop bitterness with a bit of lemon sourness and a light tropical fruit and caramel malty sweetness. Medium bodied with nice carbonation that appeases the palate. Overall, a well hopped sour ale that works very well. Balanced and tasty.

Very very subtiele, yet intense as a whole. Sour, but in a elegant way bitter touch, making it very refreshing. The fruityness is very clear, somehow, i taste berries in here. Very Nice ! Huge difference with the citra version

Can from Coppers, Newcastle. Hazy amber coloured with a thick head of white foam. It has sweet tropical fruit and orange flavours followed by earthy notes, pine and gentle sourness on the fruity finish. Excellent!
