4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
I’ll have to try this again, as I was drinking it while cooking and did not take proper notes. Quite a brilliant and perfectly done blend of APA and sour. Plenty of citrus in the nose from the hops, delicate sour in the palate, but dried out and balanced by the finishing hops. Appearance is wow - clear orange, superior thick lacing. Super and flawless. When I rate this out it comes out a bitter higher than I thought it would.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: SEP 17, 2016 500 ml can into tulip glass, best before 4/14/2017. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2-3 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Desne soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, tangerine, mango, berry, lemon, lime, melon, pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, tangerine, mango, berry, lemon, lime, melon, pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/grassy bitterness and light tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, tangerine, mango, berry, lemon, lime, melon, pepper, pine, honey, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is an excellent pale ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. This felt like a regular pale ale vs the others in the series I have had. Very minimal sourness/acidity, but still very enjoyable as it is.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a thick, hazy copper with a very foamy white head. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruits, grass, floral notes, resin, and some yeast. Flavor is citrus/orange, floral hops, and resin, with maybe the slightest of puckering tartness - but the sourness isn’t really there. The body is surprisingly smooth and thick, with a touch of bitterness and some carbonation. Interesting.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml can purchased as a single at House of Brews in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. VP1345 14/04/17 printed on bottom of can. The pour is a hazed murky golden copper with a big 4 inch off white head that is quite lasting, eventually falls with nice splotchy lace. The aroma is soft herbal resin hop, with a hint of grapefruit peel tart bitterness. The taste is the resin, dry floral hops, moving towards the soft somewhat muted tartness of the nose. The tartness carries the finish, and gives the beer a nice bright clean aftertaste. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft natural carbonation and the tart resin finish. Nice one.
