Now we introduce Yeastus Christ SuperSour, which is a version of our Yeastus Christus farmhouse IPA on speed. This puppy has aged 9 month in old Chardonnay barrels with lactic acid and has soured up extremely nice. It has funk from brettanomyces lambicus and bruxellensis, tart fruitiness from the lactic acid bacterias and has a perfect balance between caramel malts and bitterness from the hops.

This puppy makes us proud!

Sampled at The Festival 2015 in St. Pete’s with Vinny. Pours a deep amber body with thick lace. Mouthfeel is medium to syrupy with notes of malt, spicy yeast, light fruits and soft fruity funk.

330ml bottle bought at Hall Toll in Stavanger. Large foamy head slowly fading over a cloudy apricot coloured body. Drying smell of yeast esters with lemon. Rather pleasant taste of ripe citrus tartness, brett and bitter yeasty fruitiness towards the ending. Developing taste profile. Far from supersour. Refreshing (19.06.2015).

Hazy golden with a medium sized white head, good lacing. Aroma of candy and pine. Taste is tart, fruity with a dry finish

On tap @ APEX. Thanks for sharing, Tony. Hazed orange pour with a small white head. Sugary fruits up front along with a whole lot of lemon juice. Some melon, maybe grape, and a bit of caramel. Little bit of woodiness as well. Despite the kind of sugary aroma, the flavor is just ridiculously sour. Tons of lemon juice and green apple. Sour stone fruits, some grape, and drying wood. Not sure I like it that much.

On tap at Apex, pours a murky dark orange with a small white head. Aroma is massively yeasty, with earthy notes dominating. Flavour is massively yeasty and earthy - too much so. Very dirty and messy. Yeastus Christ indeed. Okay for what it is, but way too yeasty. Not my thing.

Draft - Nectarine and grape tartness. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Funky tart citrus peel and fruity yeasty notes. Nice.

On tap @ Apex. Hazy golden, minimal head. Gooseberry aroma and flavour, with a peach-pit dryness, despite the name it is only moderately sour. But quite nice.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy orange color, small off-white head. Aroma is a bit sourish, sour fruits, a touch of yeast. Taste sourish, yellow fruits, lightly malts, brett, perhaps a little acidic, but not too much. I do think I would have rated this as dreadful I think if I would have tried it 5 years ago. Don’t know for sure of course, but I think I could have. Anyway, if you don’t like sour beers, don’t try this one.
