COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Now we introduce Yeastus Christ SuperSour, which is a version of our Yeastus Christus farmhouse IPA on speed. This puppy has aged 9 month in old Chardonnay barrels with lactic acid and has soured up extremely nice. It has funk from brettanomyces lambicus and bruxellensis, tart fruitiness from the lactic acid bacterias and has a perfect balance between caramel malts and bitterness from the hops.

This puppy makes us proud!

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy orange color, small off-white head. Aroma is a bit sourish, sour fruits, a touch of yeast. Taste sourish, yellow fruits, lightly malts, brett, perhaps a little acidic, but not too much. I do think I would have rated this as dreadful I think if I would have tried it 5 years ago. Don’t know for sure of course, but I think I could have. Anyway, if you don’t like sour beers, don’t try this one.

Growler at home from The Jeffrey. Pours hazy orange with lovely sour citric nose. Tastes of grapefruit, lime, lactose, Brett, some florals, and dried leaves. Tart and sour. Quite pleasant.

Bottle from The Grumpy Goat. One of the better non-Belgian sours, perhaps a little more lemony than a genuine gueuze, with a very slightly bitter finish to go along with the sourness. Good stuff.

33cl bottle at home. Pale orange with a medium white soapy head. Medium body with quite some carbonation. Pretty sour with some sour and sweet tones. Cherries, citrus, pine, herbs and spices. A great sour brew.

Intense dark gold/ bronze saison. Orange taste with yeast. More alcoholic and hoppy than a classical farmhouse but well balanced.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 19/02/2019. Chardonnay BA.

330 ml bottle from Bierkompass, Germany. Orange copper color with a white head. Aromas of lemon, tropical fruits and some sourness. Taste is really nice and refreshing. Tropical and citrus fruits, hue and barnyard notes, well blended. Sour aftertaste. Medium body with medium to full carbonation.

330 ml. bottle @ home. Purchased @ Bierhalle Deconinck. BBF 19/02/2019. Orange, creamy white head. Straightforward lactic nose + a very mineral brett that reminds me of the De Proefbrouwerij series “Brett on Wood” mixed with lime & lemon. Taste is big on that mineral brett with thick lactic nose, oak, lime, lemon juice, light sour, lightly salty; Thicker lactic body. Interesting but a bit too mineral, odd for me what it is & feels like a missed opportunity for more. I rated the base beer 4.7 & this one is 3.9. Still this is quite an interesting & original beer.
