13.04.2016, 0,33l bottle (bbd. 01.03.2016) @ Austkil Gjestegård, Hegra:
Small fizzy shortlasting head. Aroma is mineraly, weeds, minerals, metal tank, sour berries, sour grass, licorice, anise, sour coffee, dark malts. Taste is slightly sour-ish mineraly, weeds, sour berries, metal tank, paper, grass, burnt grain, sour wash cloth, ashes. Medium bitterness, sour-ish watery mouthfeel. Crap, maybe it was somewhat nice when it was fresh...

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, at Cardinal. It pours a dense beige head over a dark brown body, close to black. Some lacing. The aroma is lightly roasted and coffee-ish, with some licorice and chocolate. Not much blackcurrant detected, neither in the aroma nor in the flavor. It’s full bodied, yet I wouldn’t mind more body, with a soft carbonation. Chocolate, roasted malts, some coffee and licorice. Even some charcoal. A touch of sour berries in the far back. Long finish. Even though I’m not very fond of blackcurrant I’d like more of it in this beer. Nice indeed. 160220

Medium sweet with mild roasty and quite nice berry flavours, light acidity and bitterness. Fairly pleasant dessert beer.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle, batch 099, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Black colour, small tan head. Pleasant aroma of blackcurrants and roast malts, notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Medium dry but distinctly fruity flavour, blackcurrants with a considerable acidity. Also moderate roasty notes with coffee and dark bitter chocolate again, a hint of smoke.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared with Rune at Skarven. High fluffy lasting dark brown body. Pitch black body. Coffee cocoa aroma with just a hint of blackcurrant. Coffee cocoa roasted malt caramel with blackcurrant in the background. Little hops bitterness, low carbonation. Short sweet finish. Right alcohol level. Well balanced and good but would have liked a bit more of the blackcurrants.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle, batch 099 (?), 6 % abv, at Vertshuset Skarven, shared with Skinnyviking. Lots of dimples at the top of a creamy, beige-brown coloured body. Smell of grainy malts and mid-tart berries. Blended liqueur taste of cassis and dark berries on a backbone of chocolate malts. Runs quite dry on the swallow. Nice (Tromsø 13.01.2015).
