Nose is super tight. Good mouth feel. Taste is really dry. Sour and bitterness are muddled. Not feeling it.

On tap at Common, Manchester. Hazy orange shade with some initial lacing. Aroma of hoppy, spicy, berry fruit. Slightly burnt malt taste, spicy like clove or ginger, quite heavy mouthfeel. Left me feeling a bit perplexed. Didn’t learn that it was made with rye until after which explains some things, but for me it didn’t quite come together right.

Draft @ Holy Grale. Funky Belgian yeast and caramel rye malt aroma. Clear copper with a large off-white head. Slightly funky spicy rye malt flavor with a light herbal hop finish. Medium body, soft carbonation.

Draft. Musty lemon/orange and toffee rye malt aroma. Dark yellow with moderate head. Sweet orange, orange peel, yeast and caramel rye malt flavor. Bitter earthy finish. Very nice.

Don’t think I’ve had a rye saison before. Comes together very nicely though. Orange with great head and lacing. Rye is the predominant flavour with some bazooka bubble gum essence. Soft carbonation. Light sour finish. Tastes like rye bread. On tap at an impromptu sampler served up by Chris at Ebenezer Kezar’s.

On tap @Lúpulo Feroz, Oviedo. Tart, some sugary and spicy aromas. Pours hazy bright gold with frothy white head. Light body, high carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is subtle tart. Sweet aftertaste.

Pint @ Birrasana (Blanes), served in Plastic glass. Collaboration between Toccalmato, Hopcraft and Marina. Pours hazy orange/amber with medim white creamy head. Orange peel, sweet malts and hints of yeast on the nose. The taste is so citrusy because of the blend hops, yeast and Rye. I missed a bit more malts and yeast flavour. The palate is dry as hell. Medium body, good carbonation. Needs more balance, anyways drinkable and refreshing.

Crystal amber colour, wee white head. Dank yeast nose, sprinkle of hops. Earthy and bready taste, crunchy rye middle and a chewy fruit finish. There’s a lot going on at the same time here that doesn’t leave room for anything to properly excel.

This was a very good beer, deep amber and hazy, nose is full of fruit, well balanced, slight bitterness with the right amount of maltiness. Excellent.
