21st December 2013
Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate, light and crispy. Smooth dark malts, touch of coffee and a whisper of dark chocolate. Tangy dried fruits underneath. Thin light malt cream. Light piney hops, mildly spicy. Very light citrus. Finishes semi dry and crisp. A refreshing and easy drinking black ipa.

Big 75cl bottle. Appearance is deceiving. It looks like a dark beer. But it isn’t. Good full ipa. Would recommend

On tap at BeerTemple. Black pour with off white head. Very hoppy aroma, tame roastiness, very tropical hoppiness with light piney notes. Taste is bitter, roastiness is much more present in the taste, nice juicy hop flavor to balance however, very tasty black IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle. Black colour with average to huge, frothy, fully lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Hoppy aroma has grapefruit notes, roasty dark malty background. Taste is roasty dark malty, bitter hoppy overtones, hints of grapefruit, the peppery spicy melange of bitter hop and roasty malt brings typical notes of green onions.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Growler. Black with a large light tan head that’s never less than a coat. Aroma of overdone breadcrusts, passionfruit, grapefruit, lychees. Sweet with bread crusts, molasses, licorice, an ashy/ burnt note that’s quite heavy, tropical fruit. Fairly strong bitterness. Dissonance is a kind of harmony up to a point (somewhere close by) - but this is interesting, tasty and hangs together just about enough.
