Sampled from 0.75 L bottle. Filmy tanned head. Body is a shade away from entirely black. Candy-fruity hop aroma, backed by some mild choco tones. Light roasted, medium full malt body. Fruity, quite one-dimensional hop flavor and bitterness. Roast and fruity hops in the finish. Quite a special one.

(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 19 Oct 2012) Black colour with rocky, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate, cacao and pine needles. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, dark rye bread and generous coffee bitterness with hints of pine needles in a fairly dry finish. More than medium body, quite dry. Excellent balance. Wonderful beer!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
75cl bottle at Håndverkerstuene. It poured a black colour with no head. Hoppy and fruity aroma at first, but chocolate and vanilla soon join up as well. Faint hint of yeast. Flavour is sharp and bitter. Hints of alcohol. Lots of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, but also citrus and bitterness. A weird blend that doesn’t work. Medium long aftertaste.
