Bottle @ Odense Tasting, Oktober 2012. Pours ruby amber with a bubbly head. Nose is dried fruit, alcohol and mild spices. Soft with a low carbonation. Warming alcohol. It’s tasty but perhaps it lacks a bit in complexity. Sticky and oily.

Gelungen! 6/13/11/13/9/13

Sampled from a 0.375l bottle @ Haandfest 2014. A cloudy slightly murky one, dark brown in color. No real head worth mentioning. Lovely nose! Thick toffee caramel, wood, a spicy tone and it smells absolutely OK. Or perhaps a tad more than tan OK. Lovely? Lots and lots of flavor. Again, caramel and fudge infused. Not sharp at all. Malty balanced. Slightly mouthdrying. No alcohol detected what so ever, and it’s really integrated and balanced. Quite a delicious one. Would not mind a bottle alone. 24.05.2014

Bottle, at Haand Festival -14. It pours a clear, brown body topped by a minimal sized off-white head. Almost no head at all actually, just a thin layer of bubbles. It’s sugary malty on the nose, almost candyish, with alcohol, dried fruits, prunes mostly, and some woody hints. There’s some bitterness in the flavor, trying to balance the malty sweetness. Alcohol, prunes and a woody touch too. Full body, warming and soft on the palate. Sligthly oily. Some bitterness in the mostly sweet, dried fruits finish. Overall, too warming, still a really lovely beer. 140523

bottle @ home. schiuma beige grossolana quasi assente. birra marrone velata, quasi opalescente. aroma di pane nero, lievito miele d’acacia e alcool. dolce amabile nessun gusto amaro. alcolico, gusto vinoso, non molto tostata, corposa consistenza oleosa. equilibrata, nasconde bene i suoi 12 gradi. armonica.

McWorta (591) - LUXEMBOURG - NOV 2, 2013
Very dark brown in colour and no foam whatsoever due to the high alcohol content. Anyhow on the nose the beer develops caramelised dattes and sweet dessert blackberry and blackcurrant aromas with some notes of alcohol. Light soft velvet in texture. Well balanced and pretty sweet with a full body. Long lasting oily textured finish. This certainly goes well with cheeses like Parmesan or extremely old gouda. Very nice beer!

Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home
Pours brown with almost no head at all. Smells of caramel, oak, toasted malts, some dark fruits and toffee. Medium to heavy sweet, nice thick malt flavor, toffee, caramel, a hint of booze and oak. A quite decent Barleywine, but maybe a bit on the safe side?
