75cl bottle. Hazy orange with big, dirty white head. NOSE : strong citrus zest aromas, pine, herbal, banana, pepper, tart, pear, cherry. Complex nose. SIP : medium body with strong carbonation. Creamy texture. This strongly carbonated brew is all about sweet tart and fruits on the beginning. Candied fruits in tart would be the best way to explain it. The flavors are bursting with orange and zest background. Further on bitter and dry aromas are starting to dominate till the end. They carry aromas of hay, pepper, zest, citrus seeds. Aftertaste is bitter expressed with orange zest and herbal notes. It comes back like a Fanta with spicy clove and booze. OVERALL : high carbonation and strongly hopped. This beer is a delight. I would like more bitterness and more creamy texture to make it easier to swallow but still this is a huge beer and worth tasting.

Draft @ Brassigaume ’13.

#20 Toccalmatto. 15 cl. draft @ Brassigaume 2013. Pours a hazy orange with a very creamy solid white head. Nose is typical for the style, sticky sweet BE yeast, caramel, orange, bread & lots of esters. Taste is like a Belgian Strong Pale Ale but taken to the max, very thick & syrupy, thick bitter creamy BE yeast & white bread, orange, hint marmalade, sugary, sweet flowers, faint fruits, more syrupy yeast & quite boozy. Very thick BE yeast / syrupy body with less carb. Also straightforward & lacking complexity to excel honestly. Not exhilarating but an interesting take on the style never the less.

from Erzbierschof - dark and hazy orange beer with a little white foam left; estery aroma with notes of oranges and spices; full-bodied, fizzy, some gentle bitterness and quite dry aftertaste of orange zest, esters and spices - a good one

Light to medium head as you pour. Slightly cloudy appearance, but typical of a triple. Aroma not highly fragrant. Taste is excellent, reminds me of a good Belgian triple. Best Italian beer I have tried to date.

Bottled. Pours hazy and deep golden with a small off-white head. Aroma of orange, yeast, caramel and spicy notes. sweet flavor with a more dry and slightly alcoholic finish. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft CO2. A nice ale. ★★★
