Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Joes. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium to full sized light to medium brown head. Aroma and taste malts, a lot of liquor, but also a slight sourish hint, slightly liquorice. The beer is pretty complex and there is probably a lot more to taste but it’s pretty thin texture wise. Decent. Very nice bottle though.

Lovely looking Bottle @ Joes. Pitch black colour with a light brown head. Smells roasty, chocolate, slightly bourbon, sweet. Tastes sourish, malts, roasty, some chocolate, cherry. Medium body, soft carbo.

Bottled. Very dark brown, almost black beer with practically no head at all. Very intese and complex aroma. Acidic cherry and red currant dominate and it reminds me of sherry a lot. Red wine barrels are definately there. Earthy and leathery notes from brett. Syrupy maltiness and chocolate sauce give nice balance. Flavor is malty but not very sweet. Slightly tart brett and acidic berries counterbalance maltiness. Finishes with awsome dried fruitiness, cherries, gentle roastedness and chocolate and gently leathery brett. Almost full body, velvety texture, almost flat. Very elegant and enjoyable.

500mL bottle, pours black with no head. Nose of feet, brett and light liqueur. Flavour brings out vegetal notes, some metallic rusty notes, weird brett, and finishes tinny and metallic. What the hell is going on here? Can’t imagine this was what was intended. Lots of off-notes. Not good.

Bottle. Pours black in color with a small tan head. Oak and barrel at first, notes of fruity red wine, roasted coffee and darker chocolate in aroma. Both tart and smooth mouthfeel. Chocolate, vinous and sour notes mixed with some barnyard. Interesting combination and seems to work quite well for that matter. Chocolate and notes of red wine and dark berries in aftertaste.

Clean oily black, wisp of a tan bubbly head. Lovely fishy grilled tang to the sugary nose. Balsamic buzz throughout without being overly tangy. Lush peaty padding throughout without being overly smoky. Really well tapered on all counts. Cooling thick mouthfeel. Clean savory finish. Lovely and in a clear bottle.
