50cl bottle: Pours an oily opaque black with a stringy-lacing beige head. Has a lightly sweet toasted dark caramel and roasted malty nose with some chocolate notes and a touch of tart fruits. Starts with pretty good fullness and well-dissolved carbonation with some semi-sweet dark caramel maltiness, dark chocolate and light horseblanket funk. Finishes slightly drier and bittersweet with a touch of vinous tartness. Has pretty good complexity and balance throughout.

Sampled at Borefts 2014. Pours near black with a ring brown head. Aroma of soy, Asian supermarket, caramel, raisin, fudge and wood. Flavour is over moderate sweet and moderate bitter with some light acidity. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Sampled bottle @ Borefts 2014. Thank you! Very beautiful packaging, new bottle opened & decanted by the brewer prior to giving me a taster, talk about presentation. Dark brown, black with zero head; Sour brett, mocha, syrup, caramel, varnish. Taste is thinned out, oxidation, varnish, brett, ink,.. No carbonation, thinned out, bit varnish; Cool presentation but I do not feel like the whole thing really comes out, RIS cannot be the right style for this, this feels not only too thinned out but above all too oxidised for me. Their “Bedda Matri Marsala Wine Barrel Aged” which came in a similar packaging & treatement was way nicer.

Tap at Borefts 2014. Poured a dark mahogany with little life. The aroma is rich roasted malt, alcohol, molasses. The flavour is moderate bitter with a super smooth rich Brett yeasty vinous alcoholic bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation.

Well, at last the brett wasn’t to noticeable for me. I don’t like it, and for me it ruins a lot of beers. But this one could handle it pretty good.

Had this at Borefts BF, Bodegraven, Netherlands, Friday 26th September 2014. Pours black, black as yer ’at black with little or no head, the bubbles (if there ever were any) having been consumed by the inky shark eye blackness. Really twangy in mouth the red wine BA adding a very interesting dinension to this, tart a little sourness. Oily mouthfeel, like this, its very nice. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.7

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Joes. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium to full sized light to medium brown head. Aroma and taste malts, a lot of liquor, but also a slight sourish hint, slightly liquorice. The beer is pretty complex and there is probably a lot more to taste but it’s pretty thin texture wise. Decent. Very nice bottle though.

Lovely looking Bottle @ Joes. Pitch black colour with a light brown head. Smells roasty, chocolate, slightly bourbon, sweet. Tastes sourish, malts, roasty, some chocolate, cherry. Medium body, soft carbo.

Bottled. Very dark brown, almost black beer with practically no head at all. Very intese and complex aroma. Acidic cherry and red currant dominate and it reminds me of sherry a lot. Red wine barrels are definately there. Earthy and leathery notes from brett. Syrupy maltiness and chocolate sauce give nice balance. Flavor is malty but not very sweet. Slightly tart brett and acidic berries counterbalance maltiness. Finishes with awsome dried fruitiness, cherries, gentle roastedness and chocolate and gently leathery brett. Almost full body, velvety texture, almost flat. Very elegant and enjoyable.
