Bottled. Pours pitch black with small tan head. Leaving a fair lacing. Aroma of dark roasted malt chocolate, wine and wood. Very sweet flavor that ends up more dry and with alcohol notes. Medium to full bodied, oily text and soft CO2. A delicious imp. stout.★★★★

Bottle shared at the 500 miles tasting in the ’Sham, from Domus Birrae, 23/03/13. This bottle was a nightmare to open, red wax everywhere!!! Light black with a thin tan head that soon clears to nyadda. Nose is sour dark fruit, bretts, light funk, dark malt, bitter chocolate, molasses, yeast. Taste comprises roas malt, brown sugars, dark chocolate, bretts, soured dark fruits, booze. Full bodied with fine carbonation, sweet and boozey in the finish. Overall a decent Imperial Stout but not world class, I felt just a little short changed having expended E25 for this one!

50cl bottle: Pours an oily opaque black with a stringy-lacing beige head. Has a lightly sweet toasted dark caramel and roasted malty nose with some chocolate notes and a touch of tart fruits. Starts with pretty good fullness and well-dissolved carbonation with some semi-sweet dark caramel maltiness, dark chocolate and light horseblanket funk. Finishes slightly drier and bittersweet with a touch of vinous tartness. Has pretty good complexity and balance throughout.

Pour is dark black with very little tan head. Nose is sweet and dusty, light berries, very cob webb attic like, and some cirtic brett. Taste is richer, still sweet but adds more stout aspects. Offers some chocolate and dark malt notes to accompany a leathery brett. Vinous notes transition into sour cherries and a bretty citrus finish. Body is thick, some heat, semi dry.

Black pour. Creamy, thick head that is not very high, but has plenty of staying power. Little lacing. Big funky brett nose. Chocolate, vanilla, fruit. Reminiscent of Jolly Pumpkin Madrugada. Taste is tart and creamy. Vanilla notes, port, overripe fruit, and chocolate. Very smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Full with some funk in the back, but not overly noticeable. Awesome beer.

Pours thick and viscous with next to no head. Nose is sour grapes, vinegar and mild chocolate. Taste is slightly sour and bitter with good sweetness. Mouthfeel is silky smooth and creamy. Body is heavy with a long aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Near black beer, dark foxy head, reduced to rim in a few seconds. Very vinous, alcohol and fusels, red wine mixed with dark chocolate. Bitter, roasted in a very outspoken way, really pushing the vinous aspects into the background. Bitter chocolate especially, and a touch of tobacco in the finish. In the front of the mouth, there is a certain fruity sweetness that is referring to fermented grapes, all the same. Very well bodied, oily-slick and fiery. Very good beer, somehow very different from the usual Russian I.S. Now. If I have to pay 40 Euros for the enjoyment of this beer, can I PLEASE have it without having to remove with godknowswhattool a ton of totally unnecessary laquer, which will end up partly IN my beer, whatever way I go about this, PLEASE?

Sampled at the DC Local Tasting a crazy looking 50cl whiskey bottle pours an oily, opaque black with some spitty, beige head. Nice nose, cake icing, roasted malts, brown sugar. Flavor is sweet, cake icing, brown sugar, a little grape, plums. Medium bodied, sweet finish. A little one note.
