Draft at Churchkey. Thanks, Bruno, for sending this over! Cloudy yellow orange color. Earthy aroma of overripe oranges. Taste is lightly tart and earthy. Tasty.

Direi abbastanza diversa rispetto allo stile tipicamente germanico.

Tydelig salt i finish. God, italiensk gose med et twist.

An Italian brewery producing a German style and then delivering a memorable version to the United States? That was the surprise I discovered after ordering a pint at Holy Grale. Rather than another overpriced bland pale this Italian beer has a solid feel that makes it worth seeking out if you enjoy sessionable sours. Its only shortcoming might be the eventual cost when you do find it.

Aroma / Appearance - A caramelly bronze base shimmers with mild carbonation beneath a crisp white head. The salty rim of a margarita merges with orange zest. The subtlety plays well with the nature of this beer as a sessionable wheat sour.

Flavor / Palate - The fluid mouthfeel is refreshing from the first sip to the last drop. Light salt, citrus, and a dash of white pepper are part yeast and part sour. The saltiness and sour aspects play well with each other in a way that makes you immediately reach for the glass again. It could perhaps use a bit more dryness but compared to my initial expectations it exceeded them all. Its only flaw, as mentioned above, is that the cost alone makes it a bit too expensive to session for very long without a deep wallet.

Draught at Taphouse. Low but lasting flufft white head. Cloudy light yellow green body. Mild acidic dusty fruity gooseberry aroma. Acidic to sour lemon nuts flavor. Low carbonation. Long dry finish.

Draft. A dark golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of salt, malt, citrus fruits, and a bit of caramel, leading to a dry finish.

Sample at the Kloooster. Thin white head. Clear golden pour. Salty sweet aftertaste. Ok.

Aroma: Salt is pretty apparent, but not overpowering; some light floral notes and a touch of pils grain. Appearance: Rich clear gold pour with a ring of white head. Flavor: Salt is very literal; a little floral/lemony besides; dries out well with a floral puff toward the finish. Palate: Light body, slick texture, average carbonation, long finish. Overall: Solid, but you expect more from these Italian beers when they are so dang expensive- nine dollars/ twelve ounce pour.

hazy orange, thin wispy white head, oily quickly. Salty nectarine and white grapefruit, perfumy yeast with light dough and pepper. Muted white grapefruit front, dirty coin and laundry mid before grainy whack, acetic emerging with sugar and orange elements in the fizzy full body, profile washed out as a result.
