1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Imagine you woke up after a party and tipped all the dregs of all the leftover drinks into a glass, beer, lager, whisky, coke, everything, it will look and taste like this.

Dark violet brown colour with no head.
The aroma is whiskey sweetness, strong smoke, peat and malt.
The flavour is smoke, whiskey, malt and peat. Rather drinkable. But strong.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: SEP 12, 2013 Pours a dark ruby red and brown coloured liquid with some hints of a tan brown head which just disappears, which is very unfortunate. On the nose aromas of whisky (especially islay - which got its distinctive aromas!), oak, salt, light peat and faint notes of citrus and vanilla develop. Very light fizzyness develops on the palate which fades into an oily light velvety texture which is supported by the dominant whisky flavour. A full bodied beer with tastes of strong sweetness with light notes of bitter & sourness. The finish is at first a bit quick but like a good dram lingers with its aromas long on the palate in an excellently balanced way and right at the fading end of the beer a nice sweet liquorice finish develops. Really enjoyable beer!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Murky brown with no head. Aroma is very smokey, peat, whisky, syrup, molasses and lots of caramel. Taste is similar, the peat smoke and whisky notes hits you like a hammer. Big caramel, lots of sweetness (that drowns in the massive smoke), toffee, caramel and more smoke. I like this a lot.

Doftar i princip ren islaywiskey. Rök rök rök, och lite köttkorv. Fortfarande ingen större fantast av wiskeyfat. Trams och dumheter

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2013 375 ml. shared with Kraddel. Purchased @ CML. Black red wine appearance & zero head. Nose is iodine & very strong peat, blended with syrup, molasses and huge caramel,... Taste is sticky red apple, molasses, brown sugar, caramel malts,... blended with harsh iodine & peated notes, Coal Ila is huge here, alcohol, sticky caramel & huge Islay finish in the back, almost salted iodine,.... Sticky syrupy body. Harsh. Doing a whole bottle would be definitely overkill & not really worth the price either but very interesting still.

The color is murky brown, virtually no head. Caramel on the noise, smoke also, maybe a small bit of, i dont know, leather shop? This is of course ignoring the unmistakable and overbearing stench of whiskey. Same story on the palate, straight up whiskey. And not good way. Imagine you order a blanton’s and they bring out a half beam/half jameson. That kind of not in a good way. Essentially, this beer comes off seeming like a novelty. More like a low proof whiskey than a high proof beer.
