Pours golden hazy with a big beige head. Smells of clove, yeast esters, some baker’s yeast, malts and melon, also alot of spices. Moderate sweet, very fruity, fantastic yeast flavors and nice malts. Moderate bitter finish. Very nice saison; nice and refreshing together with nice spicy and aroma and nice fruity yeasts.

(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 19 Oct 2012) Hazy yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, bread, lemon, pineapple and peaches. Malty, fruity taste with notes of pineapple, biscuits, a slight wheat character and a grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Quite nice.

75cl from Dranken Geers, BB 28/12/2012, Lot# 11116. Light gusher.

Swaroga (1347) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JUL 12, 2012
75cl bottle. Hazy, light yellow liquid with small to medium white head. Nose : little tart with citrus fruits notes. Straw and barnyard aromas. Saison yeast. Sip : lively carbonation with low density body. Creamy/oily texture. Strong clove dry start with distinctive acid citrus notes. Grains. It’s refreshing and it’s a genuine "saison" beer taste. A good one and bravo to italian brewers to not only copy a good "saison" beer taste but to set a great example of the gender. Good one.

Bottle, 75cl, at Cardinal. A diminishing, white, two-finger head sits on top of a mostly clear, golden body. The aroma has a lovely cellar or barn-ish touch, soon followed by fruityness, orange peel, a spiced touch and some maltyness. Wheat as well it seems. Full-bodied, dry and nicely carbonated. Maybe a bit fizzy, but it suits the beer well. Nice bitterness in the flavor, along with fruityness and grass and pine cones. Wheaty maltyness as a foundation. Lasting finish with a pleasant bitterness, fruityness and pale malts. A wonderful surprise. I expected a nice beer, but this was way past my expectations. Mmmm... 120627
