3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml from hand pump at Birra+. Dark orange, pretty hazy, with an average, frothy off white head. On the nose floral and tropical fruit hop notes and lots of caramel. Some toffee and roots/herbs as well. Pretty sweet upfront, slightly astringent. Quite herbal and again caramel forward. Ironically not bitter at all. I wouldn’t call it watery, but it’s extremely easy to drink. Soft carbonation, light to medium body, creamy texture. Very nice modern interpretation of the style.

Sampled from bottle @ monthly De Molen tasting. Hazy light reddish color, full sized a bit soapy off-white head. Aroma is lightly malty, lightly butter, lightly hops, slightly fruity. Taste lightly malts, butter, lightly old hops and light to average bitter. Average body and carbonation. Not very good imo.

75cl bottle from Grand Central Cellars, Brisbane (expiry 3/6/14). Copper-amber pour with large foamy off-white head that settles to a stable collar. Nose is caramel malts, marmalade, butterscotch and decent flowery hops. Palate is smooth and quaffable with sweet malty flavours up front and a medium floral hop bitterness to the finish. Light-medium body with lightish mouthfeel. Like a decent English Pale Ale.

Leafy and a little tinny, but otherwise awesome. Great bitter, flavoursome grapefruit. The flowery hop aroma is wonderful.
