Draught @ The Black Heart, 3 Greenland Place, Camden, Greater London, England NW1 0AP.
[ As Toccalmatto One Shot ].
Muddy matt medium yellow color (almost like a milkshake) with a average, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, moderate yeasty, spicy, yeast, peach. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, peach, yeasty, pineapple notes. Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft to flat.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Curtain yellow body with decent enough carbonation shining through. Weird sun tan lotion nose, creamy almost coconut capping the hop. Initial taste dances around this milky rum notion, odd cheap tangerine rind keel before some subtle carbonation sweeps in. Dry chalky finish is in keeping but a tight dry finish salvages a sweet citrus marmalade bitter linger.

Keg at bat. Hazy pale yellow with white head. Peppery citrus aroma with some light yeast esters, lemony. Taste is a bit odd,, plastic, citrus, lemon, peppery yeast. Dry and a little bitter. Ok, bit weird

On tap at Håndverkerstuene. Pale yet hazy yellow colour with a minimal head. Aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, fudge, syrup and some wet hay. Flavour is bitter yet short. Notes of caramel and hay. Very short aftertaste as well.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A cloudy pale saison here - looks great. There is not much action on the nose - just slight yeasty tartness apparent. The taste is very light and sessionable - grass, yeast and light hops. Sadly the palate diminishes too quickly. Very drinakble but wished there was a bit more going on.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled from keg @Bar&Cigar, Oslo. A snowy white top, over a bright pale straw colored body. Nose is crisp, spiced and citrus zesty. Light mineralic with some leafy tones. Lively in the mouth. Properly light-bodied. Bone dry, restrained malt base. Spiced up acidic-fruity and zesty flavor. Notes of grass and perfume. Super drinkabilty, utterly refreshing. [27.11.12]

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours straw with a large, lasting head.
Nose shows typical saison earthy and spicy characters along with some doughy wheat, lemon and spicy and herbal hops. Also a bold perfume-like character. Nicely done.
Sweet light malt first up as a flavour, followed by spicy notes, lemon zest and herbal, grassy hops. Finishes gently while remaining dry and refreshing.
Could use more carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Growler, 10C. Hazy gold with a white head that lasts pretty well. Very grapefruity and floral aroma with light dough, a little honey, and pepper. Lowish carbonation, light bodied. Very light sweetness, honeydew melon and a very little dough, a little funkiness that’s hard to distinguish from the grapefruit. Finish is dry and mildly bitter but not very spicy. Refreshing with some intrigue. A little less citrus and more spice would have hit the spot for me, but this is good stuff that treads the elegant/ rustic line well.
