Semplicemente DIVINA!!!

Una birra eccezionale. Una volta provata la si cerca avidamente. Cosa per me piuttosto rara.

daft@Chez Moeder Lambic: dark brown with a slight red hue, tanned head going to slight mocha, decent sweet base with strong malt presence, caramel with slight molasses, ripe dark fruits mixed with grapefruit hops, even stronger pine hops, bitter lemon peel, hint of lime, earthly hops, both sides are balanced in the taste but lovingly the hops dominate in the smell

Bottle@Enoteca Decanter, Milan. Mamma mia! I wasn’t prepared for quite how awesome this beer is. What a great label..... Poured a hazy dark amber colour with a gradually fading tan head. Glorious aroma, with buckets of cheesy, spicy hop and fruit, the caramel maltiness is just like the business end of a creme caramel, bloody lovely.. Great full, creamy body. The hoppage in the flavour is just wonderfully understated giving a divine level of bitterness that is just bang on the money. This just oozes class. Catch this wave. My 900th Rate.

Intensa, profumata ed elegante. Schiuma compatta ed abbondante. All’olfatto note di caramello e frutta tropicale.

A Mes rate. Bottle at Mario’s.
Attractive red amber colour with an excellent off white head that lasts really well. Massive hops. Big and cheesy, lots of fruit, faint amonia, plenty alpha and some good caramel maltiness lurking menacingly in the background. This is excellent, just bloody excellent. Deep toffee and earthy malt underpins the huge hops SO bloody well. I honestly don’t recall ever having a beer so intensely hoppy but so well balanced. This is proof to me that you don’t need to go the full black IPA route in order to make a balanced double IPA. Big fruit and bitterness all the way through. Loads of grass and leafy hoppage. Great length to the bitterness which again, is perfectly balanced thanks to a pinch of muscavado sugar. This is a truly excellent piece of brewing. Finesse coming out of its ears, elegance of a quality that is only usually found in fine wines. Just bloody excellent.

75cl bottle. Dark brown, can’t see through it. medium tanned head. Nose : tart, burned caramel and a bit toffee. Distinctive citrus notes like a grapefruit or orange peel but all that mixed into a tart overall aroma. Sip ; medium body with thick and oily texture. Full body with low carbonation. It’s sweet tart background with overpowering bitterness that reminds me of a coffee where I use to like drop some lemon juice in it apart that here I would replace it with some grapefruit. The taste and body is close to Shark Pants from struise brewers. Long aftertaste makes my lips become sticky. Intensive. Must enjoy.

2013-02-12, bottle, batch 08012 (bottled 29/12/2008), 4 years old, 8% ABV, 8-5-8-4-16=41
Black color with small but creamy head. Very interesting aroma, of fruity hops and spicy yeast, with tones of cheese rind (toma/tomme). The mouthfeel is soft, somehow round, but quite lean too; good flavor of dark caramel, with loads of nice hop resins, but reduced bitterness; it still has a nice fruity touch; some light roastiness and liquorice in the final, and light alcohol presence.
Clearly aged, but it develops a nice alternative.

2010-08-28, bottle, batch 08012, 2 years old, 8-5-7-3-16=39
The color is now very dark, between dark brown and black; it has a small creamy head. Good aroma of caramel and roasted malts, some hop resins and an evident cheesy touch. Good body, round; good caramel flavor, with limited residual sweetness; the bitterness is fading, there is still some resins and hop aromas, but complemented by a rising touch of liquorice. Still a good and solid beer, even if the signs of age are evident.

2009-11-30, bottle, batch 08012, 1 year old, 8-5-8-5-17=43
Hazy mahogany color; creamy head. The aroma is wonderful, with mild resiny and fruity hops, very persistent. It has a caramel flavor, some sweetness, strong body; light liquorice (probably a sign of age); most of all, it has a very interesting spice profile (ginger, coriander, pepper, …). With the ageing it lost some freshness (the flavor bur not the aroma), but it has more complexity. Excellent

2009-03-22, draught at IBF 2009, Milan, 8-5-8-5-16=42
Hazy dark amber color; medium head. Very good aroma, mix of caramel and fruity hop. Strong body, strong caramel flavor, good hopping, not extreme but well aromatic, with good sweetness, and some resins.

2009-03-21, bottle at IBF 2009, Milan, 8-4-8-4-17=41
Hazy red-mahogany color, small head. Strong hopping, fruity, a bit resiny, fresh. Good caramel flavor, sweet, liquor.
