the new coockie beer ???
pours dark amber, almost no head
smell is spices . somewhere in between speculoos and coca cola
bit bitter. spices, indeed going towards the speculoos . some malts shine trough
aftertaste gets more towards the real ’coockie’ experience .
less coockie than coockie beer, too much coockie to be beer .
fun to try though !

15th Dec 2012: Essen Christmas Beer Festival, sample glass from a bottle.
Brown too dark amber in colour with a lightly tanned head that refused to hang around for long.
Spicy nose with some yeast in there too.
A bit sweet and sticky, but interesting and different to a lot of brews on offer that day. Alcohol well hidden by the flavours and sweetness: would have liked another glass, but there were so many to try and I was on a mission to drink as many new beers as I could.

Bottle at home, first of all why do i always buy this crap ? probably because i hope this beer will taste good, how wrong could I have been, aroma was strange, taste was even weirder, no speculaas in my opinion, but it was better than cookie beer. I could even finish the bottle !

15/XII/12 - 33cl bottle @ Kerstbierenfestival (Essen) - BB: n/a (2012-1375) Thanks to the Belgian/Dutch ratebeer crew for sharing our beers!
Little cloudy red brown beer, small beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, and indeed, speculaas spices (sort of Belgian ginger cookies). MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty spicy, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, little sourish. Aftertaste: bitter, quite some spices, caramel, brown sugar. Works for me. Much better than cookie beer anyway.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle sample @ 18de Kerstbierfestival, Essen 2012.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sampled at OBER Kerstbierfestival 2012. Opaque hazy dark orange color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, (Dutch) speculaas, herbs and spices, mint and pepper. No, definitely not my thing at all.
