Some citrus and some good malt backbone. All around well balanced. Hazy Orange pour with good head and lacing. Light bitter finish. Tap at the guild.

650ml brown bottle. Gold colour, light haze, head is white and thick. Aroma - citrus and grass. Taste of citrus and grass with a grainy malt base. Bitterness is average for the style. Not bad, gotta love the Ramones inspiration as well.

Decent head with a bright copper body. Okay hoppy scent but no complexity. flavour is murky hops with a hint of malt. Not bad at all, but hard to pick out of a crowd.

Appearance: clear pale amber with two fingers of rocky ivory head, excellent retention and well-defined lacing. (5/5) Aroma: woody pine, floral, citrus, caramel. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderately strong bitter. (8/10) Palate: medium to full body, moderate carbonation, lingering and building bitter finish. (4/5) “Nunc est bibendum” indeed. The hops are all the usual starts-with-C varietals that I know and love so well. And it’s such a pretty beer, with pretty much perfect colour, retention and lacing. While we’re talking appearance: the label, I’m more than halfway convinced, is a backhanded compliment to our lovely neighbours south of the border, or at least their passports - so there’s that. Bottom line? I’ll bibendum this all day long. (Hold on - ain’t “Bibendum" the Michelin Man’s name? Another tick in the “pro” column!) (16/20)

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops with light bitter notes is pleasant enough. Taste is dominated by citrusy hoppy notes with medium level of bitter notes and dry caramel malt notes with little residual sugar notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Standard West Coast style IPA with quite the hops punch but maybe a tad too much bitterness for my taste.

Different label with the 7.5, bought at a liquor store in Duncan, on way back from Cascadia Poetry Festival. muscular but well-balanced aroma, like fresh lumber with lemon hints and a caramel wind, solid off white head on light orange. Flavor is also assertive but balanced, a high citrus keening with some oak under-pinnings, alcohol and honey, tart and drying in mouth. hoppy finish with warming. Had 8 beers in my trip & after, this clearly my fave.

Bottle. Slightly hazy amber, big eggshell lace. Tropical hop aroma, mushroom and light salty notes. Lightbodied, slightly chewy, sparkly. Slightly metallic, pine quick finish.

Bomber, golden copper with a thin white head. Aromas of straw, and melon, not pungent. This is pretty darn clear for an unfiltered beer. Taste is on the weak side for an IPA, light malt not very hoppy, very malty. Just OK.

RumRunner101 (918) - Alberta, CANADA - JUL 20, 2014
Copper pour, white head. Aromas of mango, tangerine, rum dipped spruce tips. Fruity, with a sweet, bready malt backing. Lingering bitterness. Really good.

Poured from a bomber. Hazy golden color with thick off-white foam. Smells like orange and other citruis fruits. Tastes like a mixture of citruis fruits and a fairly hoppy aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
